Not that they are the fasted cars around but at that time for the group they were selling too.. Grandpa had Grandma wet her depends...

he was saying that NO 93 car that weighs as much as the mark and was in the same class as the mark could touch it.

if i understood him correctly lol

Except the 93 ETC. But they're not gonna advertise that, now are they?

I seriously doubt the brick-shaped aerodynamics of a 93 ETC would allow it to achieve 181 mph.

The Mark VIII did brake the speed record in its class that year, and if I'm not mistaken it broke it by a good 20 mph.. but I could be wrong ont that,

Both the Mark VIII and 92-02 Eldorado have a .33 coefficent of drag. They're equally aerodynamic. And no, an ETC doesn't come close to 180mph, the unlimited Z rated cars like mine top out closer to 155. I don't want to start up a storm again, but this is why I seriously doubt a stock motor Mark VIII went 180.

Sorry mister but I remember reading that article when it came out and have seen other refernces to it. But it was sans mufflers and speed limiter, was lowered 4 inches, and had moon discs on the wheels. All of which will make a difference.

I was referring to the Cadillac, not the Mark.

it also had a different rear gear to allow top speed to be hit in 3rd gear.

I've seen all of that and I still take it with a grain of salt. If it's as easy as the simple mods (lowering, pulling a few parts off, etc,) I'd like to see it recreated. I might've tried it myself, but I already bought 4.10s, wider tires, and stock height springs.
