Hi, I was looking at this steering wheel: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr... PIL%7C%7Etrue

Sorry bout the huge link, and it says i need a pilot installation kit, but they dont seem to hove one for my 97 LSC.

Are they just saying that so i buy thier products?

And if they are where can i get a kit to install a steering wheel on my car?

Thank you in advance.

I wouldn't do it. Youll have to loose your airbag and cruise controll buttons, and im pretty sure it won't work with the clock spring setup our cars have. Also if you have telescopic steering in your 2nd gen, it could cause probs.
It looks nice, but thier installation kit probably has it sticking out so far it would be ugly. I did a Mustang FR500 swap into mine. It will work with some fabbing and rewiring. Our mounting points are different than the mustang 4 point setup. Or look for the Limited Edition wood steering wheel some of the 2nd gens came with, if they can still be ordered. Think i saw one on the auction site a while back for like 465.00 Too much in my opinion when the new mustang wheels only cost like 175.00 or so.

and you all so have to look at state inspection in some states the airbag was in the car as a safety item .so that means it has to be there .
look on ebay for the limited edition wheel i see them there some time .very expensive

Personally I'm not thrilled about the airbags, but my insurance company likes it, even with the high performance car surcharge.
