I've noticed something very annyoing about my 99 Eldo. If left unlocked (e.g in the garage), if you then open a door without using the keys (which you don't need since the car is unlocked), an earsplitting alarms goes off. I guess the intention of the designers was to prevent someone from stealing something from your car if you left it unlocked and unwatched for a couple of minutes somewhere.
But this feature is really annoying. I had to run back inside the house, get the keys and turn off that alarm since the neighbors were already getting suspicious.
Is this a malfunction or is it really there by design? Either way, how can I shut it off? I'd rather take the chance of a theft occuring than have to deal with the annoyance all the time...

why not do the easy thing and just bring your keys with you when you go to your car?
