Tow truck meets my Mark VIII

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well, today I got backed into by a flatbed making a 3 point turn. Aparrently the driver forgot the part about looking before you back up. A police officer saw the whole thing, and reported it. The tow truck was owned by a body shop here in town. The driver called his boss, he met me at the shop and he said he will take care of it for me. I am dropping the car off thursday morning.

That sucks man, hopefully that bodyshop is a good one...

Actually, it's probably the best shop in town. They worked on my Monte Carlo years ago. They have a good reputation, otherwise, I'd have gone through insurance, and to someone else.

Damn that sucks Frank, post some pics when you get it back.

wow that's terrible

That really sucks... at least they are going to fix it for you.

did it bend the hood too? i would have taken the fender off and chased the tow truck driver around

i would hope not, since its fiberglass.

that really sux man. but it will all be over soon. kinda feel bad for the driver. that must suck hearing that crunch and knowing your responsible. and dealing with the boss on top of it.

ouch, bummer...

Well new paint job... on that one.... make sure nothing else is wrecked..

If it's a good place I'm sure they'll check everything out...

Posted by: cavemansmarkviii

That sucks bad. Hopefully they'll do a complete repaint, and do first class work while they're at it.

I found on my way to work today, that the tire hits the fender when I hit dips in the road.
The hood didn't get damaged, but the fender is bent in a way that if I open the hood it will get damaged.
This car was painted within the last 2 years....hopefully the new paint will match up nicely. I will put pics up when it's done.
Oddly the car seemed a bit lower this morning although it's hard to judge on the damaged side. It was colder than usual last night, maybe that was it. I don't know if the way the car was hit could have hurt the air strut....it was replaced about 8 months ago with an american air replacement. Hopefully it's nothing...I do tend to obsess about the air suspension.

At the very least, your gonna need to have the alignment checked.

You could totally bondo that.

Ugh! They gave me a Focus to use until my car is done....what a difference going from a Mark VIII to a Focus. Guess it's better than walking....
I want my car back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
