My Next Mark

Well, I've found my next Mark. This 97 will be a project for me. But I will be up to the task. What I need from everyone here is to take a look at the pics I took, and tell me if it warrants $2500. It has 120K miles. The one thing I will do first is change the airbags, since I don know the history of them and they have been down the whole summer. The engine is strong, and there is no oil leakage. The interior is decent. Someone broke in with the intention of stealing the stereo, and broke the wood trim around the radio. They also broke the door handle on the drivers side. Also, the chrome tips on the power windows ans door locks are not present. What do you think?

I'd do it. I bought my 94 with bad front bags, broken grille, and oxidised clear coat for $1600. Threw in some $315 springs and made it my project.. Has the person been driving it with the bags aired down for the whole summer? If so, the constant jarring can affect things like wheel bearings... fortunately I drove mine 800 miles home with no problems.

If the body, interior, engine, and tranny are in good shape... it's worth $2500 to me...

The rest are projects you may end up having anyhow....

I'd say yes, wtf.

The car hasn't been driven for more than 6 months. Just sitting in the driveway. Hence why the the airbags are slammed. Today I am going to have the owner change the battery and I am going to test the air system after it airs up and see how long they stay up. Given the subtle problems I mentioned, most of which are the normal things we take care of now. $2500 is what I plan to offer for the car. Would this be a good deal?

id go for it, the lenses might be able to be cleaned up, & are you saying the chrome rings around the switches are missing? if so the switches were broken and glued back togther

I am with everyone else go for it.

Thumbs Up!!

Meh. I'd give 'em no more than 2 thou. Otherwise you'll have 3,5 in a 120 mile car when you could have paid an extra five hundred for one with 20-30 thou less miles in the same condition you'll end up with.

Otherwise, it looks like a great car, with a little bit of bad luck, and I'd do it. For $2.

that $500 doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference in justification if you ask me.

I'd show 'em 2 thou CASH, and say "that's all I'll give, sell it today.. or keep it."

It's taking up their whole driveway man. You can get it accomplished! If not walk away on good terms and with a smile, and they'll call.

it's not even an LSC. Man, $1,800.

These cars are worthless when they have problems. Trust me. Nobody's going to touch it but you. It will sit there until they call you or until they take it to the salvage yard for $300 bones. ..they'd much rather call you for 18 hund I bet.

You people telling him to do it, THINK about it. It's not worth $2,500. At all!

I was under the impression that it was for sale for $2500, not that he was going to start with an offer of $2500.

Like I said, I bought my 94 with bad front bags for cheap. I could've got one with good bags, but hell, then they'd have just started leaking 3 weeks after I bought it (like what happened to my friend's 96.)

Well, I've got my next Mark. I sealed the deal for $2500. We changed the battery, and she started up, the car lifted and stayed up. She purred like a kitten. Once I do a full detail on it, I will look great. All I need to do is polish those headlamps to get them looking clear again, and look for some power window switches on the passenger side. It is by far worth way more than $1800.00. Now I have to decide if I should sell my 93 now.

change the fluids - oil ,tranny, brake and coolant! Decent price. Didnt see the interior so all in all should be a fine addition!
