My friend is very interseted in a 2000+ dodge intrepid. Can you guys tell me what we shouldook at in the intrepid? What are their trouble spots/
thanks

Trannies... use to be an issue in earlier Intrepids... I don't know if they have improved or not..

Umm... Tell him he gets a better deal if he gets a Mark VIII... More Power... More Style.... More Class...

Oh and more respect...

I agree, and second that. The transmissions are total junk piles you will be lucky if the trans lasts for 50k miles. Tell him to look elsewhere.

junk trannys for sure. pile of sh!t IMO.

Stay away from the Decrepids!

trans and engine are crap i put a eng in one IT SUCKED went to a intrepid site and all they did was say how crappy the eng was, i dont rember what eng they said was worse the 2.6 or the 2.7 but yes bad anyway

Posted by: mark0101

Actually he doesn't Like the style of the Mark VIIIs or should I say Lincoln or cadillacs(olds man cars)
He likes the intrepid but we will see how it goes. So the tranny looks to be like the bad part, so I will look on that.

For the sake of brevity, I'll list the things that aren't trouble spots for the Intrepid:

-The wheels usually don't fall off.

I (yes I once owned a decrepid) Sure the looked ok.. but they run for crap... Tranny went out.. had a new one put in went out 5 months later.. two days later bought different car.

I use to like Dodge until the decrepid... then I learned my lesson.

well I gave him a ride in my mark VIII and he really likes the inside, like how all the controls are to the driver side. He will go for the mark VIII. So you guys find me a good mark VIII for $3000 - $4000.

Get Mr. Wilson's LOL...

also a very loud car interior noise is ridiculous

Stay away!!! I know for a fact that the 2.7 is a P.O.S. and the 41te trans is just as bad. I work for a remanufacturer and can tell you they are very popular items and very expensive!! I have had service managers at dealers tell me that if I pop the hood and don't see my product under the hood DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

Posted by: MarkOfDeath

LOL at any strokeoff that is dumb enough to own a dodge
