LS remind you of BMW 540-740I ?

Does anyone else see it? I know the designers were targeting BMW performance wise but they really nailed it appearance wise. The look
of the previous gen 740 is beautiful (imo) thats what keeps me coming back to the LS when I get in the car-shopping mood.

There is a resemblance, especially in the front end ("Schnaz"). The LS resembles the previous generation 5 and 7 Series, before they "Bangleized" the look and made it ugly.

Yes, I see it. The LS has a very nice and well ageing design like the 740i.

I've had a few people comment that they thought the LS was a BMW until they saw the badging on it. I think there are similar stiling cues, but the LS still has its own unique appearance. The best part, when I drive to work in the morning I wont see 100 other LS's on the road like I do with BMW. In some ways I think this car is so great that everyone should have one, but I really like having something different and unique.

i believe it is same designer that did the bmw he know works for ford and lincoln and designed the ls

I guess that was the guy at bmw before Chris Bangle... anyway he did a good job on the LS.. if he's still with Ford I wonder if he's had a hand in the newer designs - zephyr milan mks etc.

I see it alittle, but I like the LS better. I wish there were not many around here, but unfortionately I see atleast 2 whenever I am out.

A used 528i is what I was going to get in late 1999. Then I read about the LS. Manual transmission, V6 with 210hp, rear wheel drive, almost perfect 50/50 weight balance. Almost same size and specs as the 5 series. Drove the LS, and that was that. Brand New LS for the same price as a 2 year old 528i Sport. (Even with the lower HP #'s, the 528 was still quicker)

Kept it for 3 years, then moved up to the V8 LSE (2002). Very satisfied with the LSE, but the overall quality of materials isn't as sturdy/hefty as that of BMW. The LSE is a solid car though. Plan to keep it for at least 3-4 more years.

Yea, someone thought my car was a BMW the other day until they saw the back. I sware, whoever designed the new BMWs really corrupted the look. I hate those. I prefer the old 750s and 540s over the new 745 and 545, or whatever they call them now...UGGGGGLLLLLYYYYYY. Z4 is probably the UGLIEST out of all BMWs ever made, and yes I am bashing BMW.

okay now i have to disagree with the newer 7 series being ugly. I truly like the design of it. The 5 series is okay at best and the new 3 series is horribly ugly. And I will also say the 6 series is amazing looking as well. But I noticed the similarities when the LS was first released. I thought it was an interesting move for Lincoln.

this isnt really bmw look related, although yes, i have noticed that and even told my friend (a BMW fiend) that i thought the ls looked more like a progression of previous bmw design than the new bmw and he disagreed saying that the new bmw's are the best looking cars out. anyway, tilt your head so that your looking at the car as if it were standing on the front bumper, thats an interesting angle to look at this car imo
