I decided to drive around last weekend and see what's out there in my area for Mark's. Well, I need everybody's help on a couple that were found. First, a Mark VII with the VIN number (same # as the dash tag) stamped on the front bumper, rear bumper, both door windows, and both taillights. Also it had a chrome key lock(looks like a vending machine key) on the side of the driver's front fender. What is this all about? Rare? Second, an '81 Mark VI that is a Frulio(?) Pucci Edition. Never heard of this one. Anyone got some answers on these two beauties? Please help! Thanks

the vin etching is a antitheft thing put it on parts so junkyards and otherpeople will be aware of maybe it was stolen and the key on the fender sounds like an old type alarm where you turn it on and off to set it as far as the edition of the mark no idea ...... chris

Thanks for the info! That's what i thought the key thing is for. Just really odd that they would put in smack in the middle of the fender though. And the VIN tagging, i have never seen such a thing, on any car. Is it worth buying since all the tags match? Where can i look for info on the 81 Pucci Edition? Any ideas?
