Smell of fuel

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My mark has the smell of unburnt fuel up at the right front of the vehicle. Its not coming from the fuel filter area but more like around or in front of the air box. Im just trying to think where this leak could be and cant seem to put a handle on it.

i dont think theres anything fuel related by the air box, on my '98 i had the fuel smell, look above the fuel filter under the fender theres a bracket with a bunch of EVAP goodies, two bolts hold it up, twist it around so you can drop it down and check those, mine was a small rubber line on there that was leaking, fixed it, smell gone.

Have you been playing around with plugs recently?

Check your injectors for puddling of fuel around the injector under the rail.

Well tonight i was driving it home on the hwy and it was like cutting out off and on it was very strange. So popped the hood and the ac compressor was running. and the lines were cold... the wierd thing was that i had the heat on. When doing an oil change today i noticed the compressor is leaking the ac dye i put in it a few months ago.
