Bi-xenons use one capsule and (typically) a shield to cut off the top of the beam for low beam use. When you flip the high beams on, the shield retracts.
It is pretty much the only practical way to have HID high beams. Using a separate capsule for high beam would mean you would have to wait for the light to warm up before you had full brightness. |
