96 lsc question

what other models come with the "no chrome" molding and bumpers.. and why don't all lsc'c have that.. does it vary by production plant or specific lsc's??

LSC models weren't available till late 95 and 96 in GenIs. This de-chromed the bumpers and doors of the chrome moldings and had a few other things different then the base models.

97-98 the grill and tail light chrome went away on LSCs, that might be the difference you are seeing.

The late95-96 still had chrome grill and tail light trim. 97-98 it was color matched.

I believe all diamond annivesary models were non LSCs, although I think at first they were going to be. Panther models were I pretty sure a conversion type of thing so theres going to be a mix there.

When I bought mine I noticed everybody liked to say theres was a LSC, most Marks aren't in 95-96, they are actually pretty rare. In 97-98 alot more LSCs were made. Notice alot of people call there 93 and 94 LSCs, they didn't exist. When looking to buy one, know what your looking for. The perforated seats are another easy way to tell. Also the true dual exhaust, just look under the car. 3:27 gears aren't going to be easy to spot but LSCs have them.

From what I understand the 95-96 weren't vin recognized, 97-98 were. Actually that may be the problem cause some were saying the vins were all coming up as LSCs. With a 95-96 LSC look for the de-chrome as you know, the HIDs(early ones didn't have the clear lense from what I understand, but still HID), perforated seats, true duals(the pipes from third converter to tailpipes are duel), 3:27 gearing(hard to see that), the LSC badge on the back, thats all that coming to mind.

Note my front bumper LSC badge is my doing, so don't go by that. They all say LINCOLN on the front.

EDIT: The 95-96 LSC owner is also exceptionally cool.

just like 02 said there are alot of people that dont no i no this guy near me who has a 95 mark he told me it was a lsc i told him it wasnt he said how can u tell i said look at the difference in mine no door or bumper chrome perforated leather and tru dual exhaust plus the little lsc badge so he thaught for the 2 years he owned it it was an lsc if your going to buy a car from a distance i would ask the person selling it to take a couple of snapshots of the interior a person can i wouls assume take the chrome off and put a lsc badge in the back but doubt if they would put a whole new interior in it just my 2 cents goood luck on your search

Yes- I notice HID lamps on that model (LSC only option). And the monochrome trim you see on Gen-I's is usually done by the owner. I blacked-out my Gen-I with some Dupli-Color:

My title says that my 95 is an LSC... But it's not! The insurance company told me that it was a LSC also! But they are wrong! It seems that LSC is on many of our car titles and if you look the car up many places the only option is LSC. All of this is incorrect. All true LSC's will have the chrome delete, preferated leather seats, true dual exhaust, etc. Just like 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC was saying. The folks on auto trader seem to be on some type of a controlled substance.

I see gen 2 LSC's all day. Gen 1 LSC's however I hardly see at all. I have also noticed that many of the Gen 1 LSC's don't have the HID's either. I'm sure that is because ford dealers converted them to halogens before they were sold due to a wiring problem. Good luck on finding your LSC!

i think ALL mark 8's said lsc on the warranty card too. my 93 did, and same with my 95... neither are lsc's.

You can buy a base, put custom exhaust on, pick up bumper covers, side moulding, and perforated leather from salvage yards or one of our parts guys.. and nobody would know the difference minus the emblems. So, while you're getting the bumper covers painted, shave your emblems, or add the $30 LSC badge on the passenger side of the decklid.

Your car will then be a true LSC, minus the gears, which you should change anyways.

i have a 93.. custom grill, cobra r hood , Lms wing, chromeless side molding and rear bumper cover,. but no front and no hid's.. im looking to find a car with similar miles and condition but LSC so i can upgrade for less money then finding hid's, plus a front bumper, plus paint...it adds up

you'd boot about 5-800 altogether if you were eager about it.

When you're sellin.... don't be a "motivated" seller. When you're buyin.. act like you really don't need it to what looks to be a motivated seller.

Sounds easy and it is. But you can't do it just because I said it is I suppose.

but good luck! You should be able to find a reasonably priced LSC, in time.
