has anyone tried to have the lower end built, balanced or anything. the noble uses the v6 out of the lincoln adds twin turbo and pumps out almost 500 rwhp. only difference in the engine is forged parts . same heads cams and computer. ive talked to them but they tried to send me to the parts manufacturers but nobody will sell any of the internal parts like crank, rods ,pistons, and high strength valve springs.

I had talked to Oliver Racing about CNC'ing a set of billet connecting rods for the V8. It was stupid expensive! I didn't even inquire about slugs.

If I were to want an engine that could handle high boost or a big shot of nitrous in an LS I would swap to a 4.6 SOHC out of a 04-05 Explorer. Same tranny group, same computer, same TBW, so on, just a little rewiring and fitting and it would be golden... Then I would forge that bottom end and run a ton of boost through it. If you wanted to swap a 4.6 into yours it would be best to do one out of a 02-03 Explorer and then fit in a T-56 if ya could. Or swap to a standalone 4R70W auto tranny. That would be able to take a beating and put down some pretty impressive numbers.

If I keep the LS till I pay it off and get a new DD I will do the 4.6 swap and forge it with a standalone 4R tranny w/ TCI TMU. Then I will fab in custom 60 mm TT's. Boost it to about 15 psi, swap rear end for 03-04 Cobra IRS parts (some fabbing required), do a custom low/wide cowl hood resembling the 00R cowl hood. 17" DR's out back. Bust 10's. That would be my intentions if I do keep this LS. By then I will have enough money to do another big vehicle project again. As for now I am finishing up my 700+ hp Explorer project so funds are running low.

Good luck with a build if you do decide to go that way.

all my moneys tied up in my 90 5.0 right now i have to tear the ls apart to fix a timing chain guide that broke(at least thats what im hoping broke). pain in the butt. i was going to get this extra set of heads i have ported but the only well known machine shop around here is backed up for months with 4 valve cobra heads.

don't forget the read-end. the LS 8" rear is likely the next weak link in the deal.
