The track is open from 9:30am to 3:30pm...I thought $69 seemed like a lot too but oh well. This track is 90 min away in WI, the next closest is 5 hrs away in IA!

My first run was a 15.5 or some BS.......Dissapointing...... IMO. |

If the 60' can be improved to low 2.2s, that will get you close to 14.99. Do you shift at red line or before so it shifts at red line? Over-revving it does help times. |

I was only able to do two runs in the LS before an antifreeze leak got me kicked off the track for the day. Here is my best timeslip. Do you have any idea how funny this looked when I came crossing the finish line 4 secs later?! That was WITH the XCal II running on Perf +4 (the max tune), custom cat-back exhaust and ram-air intake w/ cone filter no heat shield and minor weight reductions 99 octane gas with stock tires using the autosick shifting at the redline (ran it in third til I hit the traps) in about 75-80 degree weather. My first run was a 15.5 or some BS.......Dissapointing...... IMO. I will have a video of the run plus a video of my exhaust. Personally I think its the loudest LS exhaust I have ever seen, even louder than the LS w/ no cats or whatever that video was.... With more runs, a tune-up and a cooler day I'm sure I coulda gotten a 14.9 out of her. Then again, the whole thing just felt dissapointing. This was the day I decided for sure that LS was going for an M3! |

But the times you got are pretty much what that LS is gonna get. Maybe on your best day with all variable perfect it'll be a few tenths better, but you did about what the car is capable of. Its not a race car and they are not "fast". I am glad thought that you got a chance to do some runs, lets the reality set in about the true gains with the mods. They are fun to drive and have some power but fast they are not. We have some tracks here in Orlando that i'd be interested in making some runs, more so to test my driving skills vs. the cars ability. Keep it up.

Cooler weather would defintiely help. So would a higher stall converter (do they make any for the LS?) and some sticky tires. If you were to get that short time down to a 2.0, you're looking at 8 tenths off your current time (rule of thumb is .1 off the 60' is worth .2 on the ET). Good luck! |

I would say run take it to the track few more time before you past judgement... and before you say I know it just a LINCOLN LS. But at 92MPH I am thinking you launch better you might get a better time. My 2 cents |

If we all chose to do nothing some aftemarket products would never have been born. I will admit some do nothing, but others do. It is cool to STATE your opinion on forums, but IMPOSING it, on other is crossing the line. |

I thank you for taking your LS to the track and exposing these products for what they are....waste of money. What really irritates me is i am sure 99.9% of the people on here DONT have the money to spend on this stuff but certain people still post bogus claims to get $$$$. There was recently a story on the news where they took a bunch of "performance" upgrades, intakes....fuel magnets....tornado thing....gas additives. They ALL turned out to be junk and MOST actually decreased power and fuel economy. This was tested at a technical school with a dyno, so they tested hp claims, fuel economy, all of it. Lesson learned, dont believe what you hear, especially when someone has their own $$$ involved.

I am bashing bogus claims on products, ie TORNADO. And going by your own definition of HOT RODDING then this guy wasnt HOT RODDING because he wasnt going faster due to his "products". I owned two f-body's and those where fun to work on and i would consider HOT RODDING. In fact, i still have tons of old Car Craft and Hot Rod magazines from way back when. I understand the concept and benefit of aftermarket products, but for the LS there isnt one for a reason. You just admitted that some products do nothing, and for a LS that stands the case. He just proved it with $1500 worth of "products".
