Coil Spring Conversion: Any issues ? Lowering, codes?

I'm ready to go with a coil spring conversion and am wondering what options or suppliers have this kit. I'm interested in lowering at the same time.
Anyone done this conversion ? Level of difficulty ? I plan on this being a driveway job. Any issues during install ?
Also, what happens to the current air ride components ? Since the monitoring is tied into the vehicles computer will a trouble code be thrown ?
Is there a way to bypass or delete the circuitry once the install is complete ? Anyone buy this kit and have a supplier you are happy with price and quality?
Your help is appreciated. My Mark is a primary vehicle and I would like to have it back on the road asap.

http://americanairsuspension.com/MK%208%20CONV.htm this is the kit im looking into... im still askin around to find out more about though. it says might have some rubbin issues with bigger rims and tires and im runnin 18s on my mark. 1.5'' drop would look pretty nice though

I haven't done the swap but I have taken apart my front end and removed/replaced mr air struts and that wasn't diffecult. The worst part is any seized bolts that you encounter.

Yes, get them through Eddie.. Eddie will buy back your air struts and compressor and discount your purchase.

I'm not sure on the rubbing on 18 inch tires.

The job is very easy and takes very little time, all depends on if any bolts are seized... but Ihad no problems on my 1993 Mark VIII when I did the change and it had 180K on it at that point.

I am running 225/40/18's on my Car lowered with coil springs and have no rubbing issues whatsoever... Could easily fit 20's on it lowered...

Thanks for the info. The tire issue could be a concern at a later date when I upgrade to a larger wheel/tire combo.
Think I'm going to go with the American Air conversion "thanks for the link".
Being 1.5" lower and a few $$$ cheaper than the Arnott kit seems like an extra bonus. Also the offer to buy my air component cores help offset the total cost. Being on a budget, this helps greatly.
Thanks to all for your input and making my decision easier. Will post pics of install once completed.

Many Thanks for the info. Installed my front springs in the driveway with basic hand tools in a couple hours. Ran out of daylight and will do the rears next. Thanks for all your help and info.

Rears are a true 5 min job... you'll be done in no time.

I had a brake line in the way of my passenger side rear. That added probably 45 minutes...

All I know is this job went so easy on my 94... When I did my 93 it wasn't too bad. Had a little trouble with the bottom control arm bolt on the Driver's side but that was it.

Main thing is get that Upper control arm disconnected so the strut can come down.

Rears were a breeze.....once I got the frozen lug nuts off. Took it to tire store and tire guy mashed his finger with a sledge. I slipped him a $20 for some cold beer to ease the swelling. Hint: don't lose your wheel lock key. I got my locks off with a 12 point socket. They were easier than the lugs. No air at my girls house so I was left with hand tools in the driveway. Still an easy job, about 30 minutes per side. How does the air line release from the solenoid? I'm not planning on a return to air so I clipped them then sealed the ends. The ride is smooth and I have yet to burn some canyons, maybe after the alignment. 1.5" drop looks great and I'm totally happy with the conversion kit. Thanks for the comments and help.

You have to remove the metal clip on the solenoid. Then, the solenoid twists and pulls down then releases. Voila.

Thanks Rmac....I was referring to how the air line itself releases from the solenoid. The installation was a breeze though. Love the look of 1.5" drop and car still rides and handles well. Wish my vette suspension were this easy to work on....and affordable. I have a new appreciation for my mark.

Eddie, any chance you will offer a 1 3/4 inch-2 inch drop coil kit anytime? The 1.5 inch drop doesn't look low enough from the pictures ive seen...

Well, the lowered kit is really closer to 2 inches after the springs settle(10-14 days). From what I understand from most people that get the lowered kit, they wouldn't want to go any lower. It may not look all that low, but in real life driving, IT IS LOW!

BTW, the only time I had a complaint of tires rubbing, was when the person not only had some huge wheels on the car, but also had a spacer to keep the wheels from rubbing the cobra calipers. I think that is what put it over the edge.

My car sits as low to the ground as I would ever want the front sits at the top of the tire on my 225/40/18 and my rear sits a little higher but that won't be fore long... Only problem I have with the coils is that they don't hold weight for
