building a new transmisson & need some help

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

i am getting ready to build a new transmison for my 94 mark.
so basically i am wondering

who makes good torque convertors for an AODE and what size stall i should go with, i am trying tokeep drivabilty, this is for my daily driver. I got a stall on my mark right now with a foot brake stall of about 2800 and i would like more but once again drivability is a big factor i don't want it running like crap going down interstate

also who makes the best shift kit for our cars also.
and what else should i look to do wheni am building the new tranny.

all opinions welcomed.
thank you

talk to ONEBADMK8.. he knows quite a bit about our trans

I think the general consensus is that Baumann makes the best shift kits. As far as the stall, I think 3200-3500 are pretty popular choices. Let those who actually have these things chime in though.

to maintain highway driveability,be sure to get a converter with lockup, that way once your cruising it wont be any different than a stock converter, and will only have the extra revs when ripping on it.

also make sure to upgrade your intermediate one way clutch to the mechanical diode version.dont even bother re doing these trans unless you upgrade that part.

other than that,i am of little use, others will have to help with the rest.

i should throw this in to

i am going to be keeping my stock rear gears for awhile if that makes any difference.

Baumann shift kit and PI Stallion 3500 triple-disc stall converter.

You're building the tranny?

I have a friend that is a really good transmisson man who is going to do it for 50$ and a case of beer

Precision Industries 3200 stall KICKS A$$. 600 and worth it. It's a must have. Just my 2 cents.
