OK HOTTIES

I have an offer for a 97 Mark not lsc with 173,000 miles on it, the only thing I could find wrong is the engine check light is on and she is willing to give me the info from the car guy she goes to saying they have done everything to the Mark possible to ge the light to go out and no luck

runs great (drove it) should I give her 3200.00 for it, only has a dent on the psgr door. (and the mlg on it) oh of course black on black

should I do? buy or leave?

173,000 miles is still young for a Lincoln, if it has been maintained. The check engine light might be just something simple that they have over looked take it to a mechanic that you trust and if he says that it is good then by all means buy it.

pass... 173,000 isnt very young maintained or not. if your lookin for a project chew her down on the price alil and go for it.. but i can imagine alot of problems to look forward to with those kinda miles. jus my 2 cents

3200 seems a bit high. I bet you could offer much less.

Hey SERG!!! HOTTIE SMOOCH!

NADA says around 3800...Im pretty sure I can take 3200. Ive driven it, nice all feels good, cept...I was not able to lay rubber, this little light on the center dash would come on of a tire peeliing out...still could not get the tires to hook up to the road at all!or the brakes to hold for that matter....ummm got plenty of attention though...lolol ooops! oh the dent is much much worse than it looks in this pic

Here are a few pics, under hood looks good, and interior is good, not cherry but good, seats good...no books no remotes...hummmm feels like a wishy washy pros cons scorecard

I know...even for a 32v DOHC...it's going on its 3rd life....soooo HOTTIES...?

SMOOCHES!...gotta know ....dang...I always take to Marks like puppies...help me HOTTIES!!!!!!

If you can deal with what you know about the Mark and are completely comfortable with it then go ahead and buy it, but if there is the slightest doubt in your mind about anything on it Stay Away from it.

Debi !
Did you turn the traction control off If it is the same as ours. I can't see the dent in the picture I still would try and offer lees for it It does look clean How old is the person Do they have the receipts for the work done ect ect.... Love the black Marks !!

It's a good lookin car but not for that price, that has to go down for a done deal most definately.

low ball them (2,500) if they say no then walk away and if it's still there after a week and they need the money they'll take it.

Ahhhhhh!!! He said the "A" word!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh......

You can get a code from Autogroan but I bet the idiot can't read the code....

I'd offer her less... and then see what happens.. Dent!!! CEL!!! both are worth a drop of at least $500 in my opinion....

Positive thoughts... If you can get it for under $3000 and it turns out to be a dog.. it will give you plenty of opportunity to learn how a Mark VIII is built as you take it a part piece by piece to sell here for parts....

I don't think that 170K are too many miles but Serg is right that parts will be wearing out. So get ready for some weekend projects... How many owners has the car had, how did it get the dent.... How long has the CEL been on....

How clean is it under the hood? Look at it's underside...any signs of oil leaking?

But in the end I wouldn't pay $3200 for it... You can get better with less miles for that price. $2500 would be a fair price and you can get most of that back selling the parts....

My CEL was driving me ape $hit. Finally I changed gas stations and it went out with in 500 miles. It has not come on in almost 2000 miles now. The El cheapo Sheetz brand had more than 10% ethanol. You get what you pay for sometimes. I stick with Shell or Sunoco now.

NADA doesn't mean squat.

I use REAL world price guides like Ebay.

Go to Ebay and search under completed items for a much more accurate pricing scale. That reflects REAL world pricing and what people are willing to pay TODAY not some 3-6 month old pricing guide.

I was just at Manheim Auction 2 weeks ago and one just like this went through with over 180k for $1900.00. I wouldn't pay a dime more then 2k.

Hey HOTTIE, anybody told ya lately how HOT YOU ARE!!!

ThanQ so much for all the feedback, you guys are too sweet

Easy enough, I'm tellin em my HOTTIES said drop it to 2,000. and we can shake hands.

I did ask all the q's, they have lots of receipts, and dent was on it when they got it (said they got it from a guy who's job req'd him to travel a lot).

I recall Torq and Brent talking about the t/a and that turning it off is different in 2 G's, so maybe I didn't have it off.

None the less, I agree, THANKS!!! SMOOCHES HOTTIES!
