Please post here or PM me if you have any questions.

Of course, everyone is invited so come one come all and welcome Mike with us !!!

My name is mike....and I'll be there also.

Mike

Posted by: 94m5

How far from detroit is it J? I really don't want to have to rent a hotel for a weekend, but if we are close i know some people I could prolly stay with.

Mike

Posted by: mespock

I'll try to make the meet... we'll have to see what my wife has planned. That's the Civil War Reenactment weekend here in Boscobel and usually my wife has a bunch of family come for the weekend.

Plus it's her Birthday weekend.... but if no one is coming I could give her a trip to Detroit for a B-day present.

Mike
Farmington Hills and Grosse Ile are both within a half hour of Detroit.

You're welcome to stay at my house Mike, but I'll be having another house guest then, and it might be a little tight.

Posted by: m_maker

Mike, that makes two of you.

I'd be honored to have you here.

Bill is right, everything is close here, conected via a high speed autobahns ... hehe at least that how I see them. It's looking good as far as having it at my place, so you could stay in the guest bedroom, or set up a tent in the backyard.

This is too cool !!!

Posted by: Sergmark

Jeremi,
I think we met somewhere did you have a red mark ??
H'mm thats the begining of my work week on nights.... Wonder if I can get the night off. Whould like to go ...

Posted by: 94m5

I may take you up on that J....... I'll bring that fuel tank with me also.

Serg....hope to see you there.

Mike

Posted by: m_maker

Serg, please come out even if for couple hours.

Come people, I know there is more interest, although it already looks very promising !!!

Mike, you got it. Let me know when you plan to come down.

Yes Sergmark, Jeremi had a red 95 Mark. Here's a photo of it preparing to beat the snot out of my red 94 at the Milan track. Note the custom grille.

That same car is now a copper colored first place winner at the Carlisle all Ford National show.

I told you I had some photos of it Mike.

If it wouldn't have been so close to the July meet and that I have to go to Mike's this week to get my 94 Mark VIII it would have been easier to make the meet.

Need to refresh the LvC funds... My next meet will be maybe later August or Septemeber...

I am looking more at the Christmas party as my next meet.

It was in Chicago last year.

Since the gathering is so close to my home and shop, It'd be a shame not to hook up with you guys.

Tell you what. How about a tour of my "toybox" project and then I'll get home, clean up, and join you later.

Someone PM me with an address.

I guess I coming now.

2006 Michigan Summer Meet !!!

This event will take place on August 5th, 2006.

We have a long time club member visit from out of state and we need to welcome him back best we can.
We are expecting 20 Lincoln Mark VIIIs, at least one Lincoln Mark VII, and one Lincoln Mark II.
Other Lincolns and Fords will be also present.
Early in the day, around 9 AM, several of us will be attending a dyno day at Alternative Auto in Mt.Clemens.

www.alternativeauto.com

We plan on being there until 11AM.

From there, we will cruise via I-696 to Farmington Hills, for the main event, scheduled for 12:00PM.

(I've PM-ed everyone with the address. If you haven't received a message, please empty your message box and send me a PM or email)

We plan on major car talk, beer tasting, bbq burning type of event, that will run late into the day.
Any food and drink supplies are welcome, as this is a non-sponsored event.

Thank you in advance for your participation,

Jeremi

I sold my Mark awhile ago, but I'd still like to come and see some familiar faces. Is it OK if I show up in this??

Maybe I'll bring some 109 fuel and turn up the boost at Alternative and see what it spins....I've done 403RWHP on 94 octane...How much for the dyno day?

Awww, man! My Supra is a MKIV, not a MKIII.....

Posted by: m_maker

It's not really a dyno day, just dynotuning of several cars that have prescheduled months in advance. Sorry guys but it's all booked up.

Ron, I remember you from the old club. Come on out, but I hope you don't think nowadays our Marks are skeered of 400rwhp import LOL. I'll PM you with the info.

Don't be scared, be terrified! LOL....I'm really having a blast with the car. On the same low-boost and street tires I ran a 12.6@116 my 1st time to the track with horrid 2.0 60 foot times. With drag radials and a bit more boost, 11's no problem. The high MPH suggests a mid to high 11 second car, easy. On a roll, it's absolutely deadly. I've blown off 2 Vipers, a Porsche 996 Turbo, a 2006 BMW M5 to name a few. From a 40MPH roll, traction is less of an issues (though I have spun them at 55MPH!!) and you really feel the thrust. I'll be happy to take people for rides or let them take it for a spin...

I was thinking of something smart to say But I'll be nice thats pretty fast for a micro car How much does it weigh??

Posted by: RRocket

Micro car? The Supra is a full-sized Grand Tourer...Weight is about the same as a C5 Vette. It has an Inline 6 with Twin Turbos. Massive brakes with 4 pot calipers all around (IIRC it held Automobile mags braking record until the 2002 Viper came out). Grip is .096 on the skidpad. Cars with the same mods as mine reach mid 180's mph up top. To give you an idea of the size, I'll compare it to the Mark.

The Mark has 3/4" more headroom, but the Supra has 1.5" more legroom. Hip room is the same in both cars. The Mark REALLY trumps it in shoulder room..about 4" more. I suspect that has lots to do with the Supras high doors...All in all it's a very comfortable, fast Grand Tourer. Some people would call it a sports car, but I think it's a touch too big to be a true sports car.

Posted by: Sergmark

Please don't misunderstand me when I say micro car. I mean it in a good way.
I almost bought a supra years ago in there early days. It sounds like they have made the cars much better and with that power it has to be wild to drive on the streets Great on the skid pad !!>...
I'm from the old school having owned a 69 427 corvette when I was 19 It was my second car and a lot of fun... to many tickets

Sounds great Barry. You should have the address now.

About what time will the tour be? Can you send me a PM with the address? Maybe we can shuttle people over there with one or both of my cars.

Will you be bringing your Mark II to the meet?

Posted by: 94m5

One week kids.

J, We (dad and I) will prolly be arriving late friday evening/night, will that be a problem? We may end up bringing the 95, and the 98. The 5-speed is out of the question right now as the rear bags are blown.

Posted by: driller

The Blue Flame should be there sportin' 4.30s.

Posted by: RRocket

I'm going to be there for sure...I'll likely show up at the dyno sessions too! Also, there's a car show in historic Amhersburg in Canada on Sunday. It's about 35 minutes from Detroit. They shut down the streets for the car show. Just something to do on Sunday if you're bored...

Posted by: Conti94

Man I wish I could Make this. But I can't my funds are blown, I just had two vacations I can't afford another Trip. Drink a beer for me guys.

Posted by: m_maker

Okay, my driveway is ready for the 20+ lincolns to attend this weekend.

I have few confirmations already, but please if you plan on coming down, send me an email so that I can keep a count.

I get requests from people as to what is needed. I really appreciate all the offers to contribute.
We'll have a BBQ going through most of the day, so any food that can be grilled is welcome.
Also, whatever you plan on drinking (soda, pop, beer, ???), just have it with you and plus few to share.

Posted by: MarkVIII93

I have a bunch of 2 liters left over from my brother's grad party.. Ill bring a couple of those? I cant wait! Too bad im not of age yet, so i cant drink a couple brews with yah fellas.. Oh yeah, and my brother planned on driving his 87 mark vii, but unfortunately the abs accumulator went out yesterday, so it looks like ill be riding solo.

Posted by: 94m5

I'm leaving at 6:00 am on friday morning. mapquest shows an 8.5 hour drive so expect me there in 7 J we still cool on a room for the weekend?

Posted by: m_maker

Mike, I have only one air bed, if you guys bring something with you, it would be cool. I haven't really set anything up here yet ...

You got my number right ?

Posted by: 94m5

yup..... No problem in the air matress, i"ll throw mine in before we leave.

I really need to spend some time at the shop on Saturday. I should be there from abour 11:00 on. I do plan on taking the trailer for a test drive tomorrow. If all goes well I'll probably take it out to Baker's on Sunday.

I can bring the Mark II to the shop in case I get hung up and can't make the party.

Posted by: MarkVIII93

I remember you asking somebody if my car has 4.10's. Well, it doesnt. The dude with the black gen2 didnt beleive me that it was all stock, but it is.

Posted by: m_maker

It wasn't a question of extra power, but the two wheel burnout and possible posi traction. I guess it's all in the tires, or lack thereof as well as proper technique. You need 4.10s though

Test drives are always welcome, when I'm 100% sober that is. And thank YOU JP !

Not one pic of the Supra, eh??? LOL Had a great time, and enjoyed bringing a couple of people for spins in the Supra. Barry's trailer was wicked, had a nice ride in the convertible Mark VIII, and even put Bryan to work grillin' some grub and polishing my headlights!! Was a great meet...looking forward to the next one!!

Hey now, I took TWO pictures of the supra. Its a mk IV? right? Nice car, I didnt want to seem like an annoying little kid asking for a ride so I just kept to myself.

Ah man, you should have asked...I'm always happy to take people for rides!! Next time we hook up, you get the 1st ride!!

My wife was wondering who was drinking Bells beer at the meet ?

We're gonna have another follow up meet this week to work on Sergmark's HIDs. It looks like the party never stops here in MI.

I had asked Bryan to pick me up the Bell's Amber Ale. I see Dave was drinking Bell's Pale Ale. Bell makes some great beer...

Bells Amber ale H'mm never tried that one. I hope everyone enjoyed the Heineken I brought as a gift and I could only have one :-((

That reminds me. Where's my deposit money for the beer cans and bottles? By the looks of that trash can, there must have been 500 bottles and cans in there. At $.10 a pop, no wonder you guys in Michigan host parties. You can almost pay the mortgage with that stupid deposit rule. I bet there isn't a trash can anywhere in Michigan that has a can or bottle more than a day old in it. LOL.

The Bells was good. I should have bought more of those instead of the Red Stripe.

Good to finally catch up to you Ron. Not literally. Working on that.

And Jeremi, it was my bad on missing the roller coaster ride. Next time.

I'm gonna use that money to print HUGE "bottles and cans here" signs for you Bells drinkers as those were the only bottles and caps laying all over the place after the meet. I guess they don't teach to clean up after yourself in your states/countries. NOT .

Opps, Busted. I just said I brought them officer, not drank them.

I'm pretty sure somebody must have removed those from the bin as some kind of collectors item and then forgot to take them.

Well yea, that's why us Canadians come to the US!! I emptied my garbage as soon as we crossed into the US!! I pissed on your trees too. Hopefully you haven't stepped in the "suprise" I left on your lawn.....

Don't make us take your country and turn it into a big parking lot.
