Not any 99+ trans will work, for example PI crown vics and Town Cars have longer tailshafts. Swapping the extension housing won't work, you have to take the trans apart and swap out the tailshaft. |

Civilian Crown Victorias get a steel driveshaft with the shorter tailshaft, police models have an aluminum or (depending on the year) an AMMX driveshaft and the longer tailshaft. The aluminum & AMMX shafts are shorter than the steel driveshaft. Also, the Town car and the long-wheel-base p70 crown victoria have the longer tailshaft housing. Don't sweat it. |

Should be. Here's some more detail on swapping tailshafts:
http://www.shizzot.com/shaft.htm Scroll down to where it says "Long Tailshaft Extension Housing" On a Crown Vic / Grand Marquis, people swap from the short housing to the long housing, you want to do the reverse of this if you are going to use your stock driveshaft. |

The driveshafts on the PI CV are the same length if you measure from yoke end to flange. Thus, it's possible to swap out just the extension housings. The output shaft stays the same. |
