I took my car in today to have the trans replaced. The one I'm putting in is out of a 99' Town Car 52,000 miles. I'm changing out my MLPS and TCC out of my old one (96') and repining the connector. The Mechanic said with the torque convertor (PI 3200 stall) that there is a good chance that the computer will read that the trans is slipping and show error messages. I have read so much over the last month, that I've read myself stupid. Can anyone tell me that it will work and there should be no problems, or is there something I've missed? Also I went with Castrol Mercron V. Again, shouldn't all this work?

mental rolodex says it will only look for clutch slippage when lockup is applied, so, i believe your fine... anyone else...

also...go with royal purple tranny fluid. expensive, but worth the money,.

Amsoil FULL synthetic is the BEST tranny fluid period.

You will be fine. I had that same converter years ago with no issues at all.

Thanks for the info guys, I already had bought the trans fluid and its been put in the trans. Thanks anyway. I wish I would have know about your trans fluid Geno. I've been in the process for around a month and hadn't seen any mention of it.

Thanks again,

Greg

Any long term results of the Amsoil fluid?

Amsoil (same with Redline, Royal Purple, etc) seems to be overhyped, overrated, and overpriced in my opinion.
