Wheels

I put another new set of wheels on my car a couple weeks ago, figured I'd throw up some pics.

Feel free to let me know what you think..

Looks nice. Slightly taller/wider rear tire?

Posted by: poniesviii

Yeah, I went with 255/40/18 front (10.25" wide)

275/40/18 BFG g force KDW-T rear. (11.50" wide)

I originally wanted four of the rears all around, but my front suspension needs some attention so I found used 90% tread Dunlops for the front off ebay for $200/shipped.

I almost think I should go with the front profile all around. Get either a 275/35 or 285/30 for the rear. Everyone seems to think it looks perfect as is though so I figured I'd see what you guys think. ??

I got 265/40/18s KDWs all around on mine on 9.5" wide rims. I like it.

They look like the Speedsters Performance Wheel Outlet carried before they went out of business.

lol. NO! These are 18X9 saleen speed stars. I've been waiting through six years and two mark viii's to get a set on my mark, that will fit! I should lay subframe on 275's with these wheels, with minor modification.

Yeah.. you helped with my tire clearance questions a couple months ago. Thanks! I like your stance with that style wheel.

Looks EXCELLENT. I wouldn't change a thing.

Thanks. Oh yeah I think I remember that, hope I was right. LOL.

Didn't realize at that time we had nearly the same car.

Thanks Geno! ..The staggered has been growing on me, almost scares me cause at first I really didn't like how it turned out lol. But, I adjusted the rear sensor a bit and it seemed to come together. I drive with my switch on, so this is my actual ride height on the highway, and it doesn't rub at all, surprisingly!

Yep!! Yeah my car's not an actual LSC, but after I *ahem* copy Ray (I seriously thought about this before I saw assassinator after paint) ..and shave the side moulding I won't have anything cosmetically to say it's not an LSC. Lol. I purchased the LSC badge for $30 but decided not to install it when I repainted the car, I shaved the trunk emblems instead.

Your car is very nice! I wish I would have purchased a black '96 LSC the first time I bought a mark, it's my favorite.

I really appreciate the input guys!

Nope, though I wish I would have seen those back then..... These wheels (width;offset) were recently produced specifically for thunderbird/mark viii. I had a choice of the new GT 500's, Bullitt's, these, and.. 2003 Cobra?.. I think. A vendor recently had 10 sets of each produced and I had to have the Saleens!

Cool. The Saleens are a good choice. GT500s? I think I know which ones those are, those would be a 1st on a MarkVIII.

Posted by: poniesviii

Yes they would be......... I don't think anyone has them on a mark viii yet but here they are on an SC. (18X9.5) 100% chrome looks wicked I think.. I'm just a simple 5-spoke fan though.

I got 'em from Brad Storey, not sure of the phone number but I think his email is cudaz101@yahoo.com

edit: The phone number I have is 509-843-1401 8-5 m-f; noon on saturdays PST (-4 hrs I think for east coast people) they're all in chrome too, even the 03 cobras 18X9 (I think that's the fourth option) and the GT 500's are the '07 style not '05, there isn't one in '05 as I just figured out after reading my issue of Jul '06 automobile mag. lol. He got them in about two weeks ago so if you're interested I think you can reserve a set since he takes deposits and payments last I knew. I think he had 10 sets of each made.

The raked look is growing on me I appreciate the opinions guys, thanks!

Also, for anyone considering interest they are $800/set of four including shipping I believe.

You can't beat that for the quality of fit you get with these.
