Denali amplifier for EXT?

One of the amps (apparantly there are two) in my '03 EXT died, so now only half of my speakers work The new one from delaership would be around $700. I've read somewhere that they use the same amp as for GMC Denali which is about $300.
Is this true? Have any of you guys heard of or done this?
