Malfunctioning Gauges

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

All my gauges are reading 0 and my odometer has lines through them where the numbers go. It only happened once in a long time, I would restart the car and it would go away. Now it is happening almost every day. Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't feel like taking my car to the dealer. Thanx in advance.

Mine did the same thing 2 days ago (2000 V8). Vehicle started, but none of the electrical items worked. Couldn't turn on radio/ac/gauges all at zero....
Turned off, and restarted and no problems since.
Could it be the heat? It was about 95 that day and car had been sitting in a parking lot for 9hours.

Could be related to the battery. The 00-02 LS electrical system has a lot of demand so any deviation can cause problems.

My bet is the battery going dead.

I'll try a new battery. I do have a 600 watt amp hooked up. Since it started messin up I stopped using it. Thanx guys. I also have a 2000 V8. It is around 95 degrees here.

One more point. If you buy a new battery, don't forget to make sure it can be hooked up to the vent system in the trunk of the LS. Don't let anyone try to sell you one that cannot be vented. You may have to go to the dealer for this -- I've never replaced a battery in the LS so I'm not sure of the sources, but I do know its important to get one you can vent.
