KKM Air Filter

Has anyone had any problems keeping the air filter on the intake? I have had the cone come off twice when driving, activating the check engine light.

Did you use the bar in the kit? If you didn't then it will fall off. One way to correct this is go to a autopart store and buy a coupler like the one that is on the other end of the intake tube if you have the aftermarket one. Otherwise you might need to tighten the strap that holds the filter on.

Yes I used the bar. Its actually the air filter itself that pops off? It seems the hose clamp on the filter slides off the housing.

That is unusual. Do you have the stock intake tube or the aftermarket tube? If you have the aftermarket tube you'll need to add masking tape to the end of the tube for the MAF clamp to get a hold of it.

I have the stock intake tube. its odd. The hose clamp holding on the filter slides off the billet aluminum housing. Could it possibly be the accesive filter oil on the exterior filter causing it to slip off? I'll try washing it off and reattaching. Thanks

That is possible. Try cleaning it real good.
