Project 12 second LS...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: rocket5979

I finally got the other funds to start the second phase of the 12 second LS project. Once I got some more stuff in I will post some pics and a vid or two after I hit the track with it. If things go well, it should be done and up on the dyno tuning it by early next month.

At the very least it will hit low low 13's. Hopefully with the right driving and track conditions it should hit 12.9's.

I guess it is looking like the LS WILL surpass the Explorer for a little while after all. hehe. Oh well, KBX will be taking a big bite out of the LS's arse in another month or two anyways.

Oh here we go now Are you gonna be running 255's on the back of the stock LS wheels?

Nope. I will be controlling traction via my top secret special electronic device.

Just wait for the those perfect track conditions, I believe you can do it and so will others.

Seriously, its going to be damn impressive to see an LS with quiet stock exhaust blazing down the track to that kinda time. I'm truely looking foward to it.

Your right. That is why I plan to do my "project" and then take the car to the Arctic circle and see if I cannot find me a 45 degree downhill 1/4 mile track.

I figure that if the weather conditions are right I will hit 9's in the 1/4! (inside joke) I mean after all, others here claim to have done such things as that.

Its a miracle, a true Hot Rod Lincoln miracle.

The other day I pulled up next to a 04 Cobra with the LSE, I figured if the conditions were right, I get em. Nope, maybe next time, or the time after that.

Sarcasm at its finest.

I am keeping the details on the down low for now. Once I install the stuff, tune it, and run at the track again with slips and vids then I will post more details. Lets just say that this surely isn't a Ken Motz type of thread if ya know what I mean? If things go well then 12.9's will be right within grasp, as long as the driver mod is there.

The best way to get a 12.9 sec. 1/4 in a Lincoln is to spray water on it so it will slide down the track like a good bar of soap.

Go figure, another disgruntled Caddy owner who doesn't have a clue as to what they are talking about. Golly-gee there kid,....how much power does YOUR caddy have? Only 270 you say? Ooooh I'm sorry, no wonder your unhappy. Shoo, fly shoo! Back to the world of torquesteer for the likes of you!

So what happen? Did you ever hit the mark?

Its coming together, Rob still has some finishing touches on the install. He won't be back here to update for several reasons that I won't discuss. I'll be racing with him soon thou. High 12s are in the cards, low 13s are very likely.

I'm guessing that this is a very COSTLY project.

Rocket/KBX.....Can't seem to PM you or email you, but I had a question. what spark plugs are you using, as fas as 1 or 2 deg. colder and which brand has them? Right now I have 2 deg. colder Champions. But I want 1 deg colder. And I think the 2 deg. is making a difference in performance.
