I got this off of eBay for less than 400 bucks delivered straight from HONG KONG. Did a allot of research before I bought it and ends up they makers of this also make the parts for some major brands.

Here are the Specs along with the pics. Now all I need to find is an amp and fiberglass box for the trunk. Any suggestions as to what amp and where to get a fiberglass box that will fit the 98 LSC?

Looks almost to good to be true? I have an Alpine touch screen DVD player in my WRX and am debating on taking it out to put in my Mark VIII

Let us know how it performs with DVDs and stuff if you can. I record my own DVD's and MP3 DVD's so I wonder if it will play them like my Alpine will?

The cam is supposed to fit in the trunk key hole. I had a fosgate before so I feel more comfortable with it. Now if I could get an answer from this guy it would be great. I really want this little project to get done a lot faster than what it’s going so I guess I will start looking into more options just in case this guy doesn’t reply anytime soon

Posted by: JoeyGood

Just Ordered this box since the guy from Texas never got back to me. It should be here some time this coming week. Once this is in I can start setting everything up. Can't wait to get started

Posted by: pepperman

Looks cool post some pics when done.

Posted by: JoeyGood

I just got an e-mail for them and it should be here by the end of the week give or take a day. Here is the link in case anyone is interested

That's what I'll be doing shortly. I'll be ordering a TwEECer and want a more elegant solution than a laptop in the passenger seat. I estimate it will cost about $500-550 including a 7" lilliput touchscreen and probably a creative labs XFi soundcard.

Posted by: Iwantmymarkback

Don't forget to show us all those pictures, because at the end of this summer, if I worked hard enough and made enough money, (I know I will) I'm going to buy the dvd player and probably put the tiny playstation 2 in my glove box because its so tiny, and it can fit. It will give me something to do when I cut all of my classes.

Ok an other item added to the list of things going in. This way i don't put any stress on the ALT.

Oh and i have a question: Would any one know what the stock AMPS are on the ALT.that came with the 98 GEN II LSC? (i have everything but sunroof and heated seats if that matters)

Still gonna stress the Alt with or without it when it comes to heavy bass.

Thanks,
Still have to decide if i want the amp and the capacitor on the back of the box to save the trunk space or use the whole truck to show off everything

Posted by: JC1994

My band pass box sounds best in the middle of the trunk.

id like to show it off but i allways got some crap in the trunk so if u dont need the space then flaunt it

Posted by: KainDTE

Dude bring that rockford amp back and get a new amp... Go with something that pushes more than 200 watts RMS lol Try like diesel audio or Power acoustic class D amps for the same price but 3 times the power...

Posted by: JoeyGood

Past couple of weekends have been rained out and since i don't have a garage to work in the only thing i have been able to do is prep work for everything (living in an apartment sucks sometimes) Hopefully if this weekend is quiet i can do what i need to and get everything in but i doubt it cuz i got friends that really like to party but for sure by the end of next week i should have it done.

Posted by: StincolnLincoln

oh cool i know what u mean i live in an apartment as well .. i just picked up this sweet ass continental and im thinking of all alpine in it besides the subwoofers and amps. it already has the alpine factory system but ya know thats coming out. i want the alpine 7" slide out (motorized) dvd touch screen player with all the bells and wissles unless u know of one that does everything that one does thats less than 1200.. The one you have wont fit in my dash as you can see in the pics below

Posted by: JoeyGood

WOW very nice and clean, how many miles on it?
Looks like you got enough room to do what every you want just need mount it the right way unless it's the depth you're worried about. Check on e-bay for a double din before you spend the money at a stereo shop, i saw some alpines for under one 1G when i was looking.

Your ride looks great good luck with it Oh and get some tints man

Posted by: 2002WRXSTi

I just went by my shop last week to see what was new. Alpine has a double din now that is a touch screen on the face. It was very cool somewhat like the one on EBAY from China.

Only thing I did not like about it was that you need a changer to play CD's and DVD's. It did not seem to have a in deck player like you can get in the EBAY one. I could be wrong cause I am to lazy to check

Posted by: StincolnLincoln

i did a fit on crutchfields website and the doube din IVA-W200
2-DIN DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver/AV Head Unit
i wanted from alpine doesnt fit my car. but the
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...category=AV_HU

IVA-D310 or the IVA-D100 will fit perfect. and oh by the way it does have tint on it already its just the angle i shot the pic from doesnt show the tint well but im thinkin of darkening them soon
Its a 2000 with 61,700.00 but now since i have had it it has 61,800+ on her now.

Posted by: 2002WRXSTi

I have a IVA-D300 in my WRX now and yeah I love it except for one thing. The brain is external and the wiring to it is not huge or anything it is still a pain to run.

I have the brain mounted under my pass seat and it is rather large. Back seat passengers do hit it because it cannot completely fit under the seat. I do not know if the IVA-W200 has an external brain but it does not seem to?

My place has an Alpine F1 in stock that I am so tempted to get. Only problem is it has a big cross over and will take up lots of real estate in the car but it would allow me to make the car sound soooo good

Posted by: StincolnLincoln

hey 2000WRSTi post a link to ur place and or a pic of some alpine stuff..

It's not my place but I worked with the manager in the early 90's and he is Alpine certified and a incredible installer! When he left the place I worked at he switched to this place http://www.autosoundnj.com/ and he now manages it.

I cannot quote any prices or anything like that because I do not work there. However they have made a lot of magazine add cars and cars for the audio manufacturers. They are that good

OK so i wire everything up leaving the old radio in for last to remove before putting in the new radio. Well it took me about 4 hours to run and hide the wire well which wasn't too bad considering the heat i was working in. So being Happy and satisfied that all the wires were in place and not a hint of anybody being there i decide to take on the final task of removing the radio. Well guess what the dam thing didn't want to come out. It would pop out about an inch and then just as i thought i had it boom it fell back in. So now I'm thinking great someone bolted the thing down like some shoemaker job. I pop the control panel to push it out the rest of the way and still wont move past the inch. At this point i am dripping in sweat from the heat and i have about an hours worth of light left. So off comes the bottom panels drivers side and i can't See $hit that would be holding it from the bottom. I feel around making sure and nothing. So i said OK take a smoke break and think a little and decide if it ain't gonna come out easy on this last try I'm gonna pull a Manhattan robbery and pull the dam thing out no matter what. So i give it the 6th and final try but this time i shove the tool past the the click you're supposed to hear which left me with only a little nub on each side to work with and i jimmy the tools a little outward like you're supposed to do and thing starts to move more and more and more. seems the tools i bought were not long enough or something but i guess you can't always go by the book. I got it out but had no light left to work and was soaked so i guess it's TO BE CONTINUED next weekend

Posted by: StincolnLincoln

aawww man thats sucks lol.. but u got it out. i really want to do a double din but every double din i see i dont think it fits. anyone know of a double din that will fit my continental

Shipping was 50 bucks but well worth it all the way from Canada. Took a little longer than i expected but delivered with out any damage which is a good thing.

Haven't finished only cuz it's been so dam hot and no garage to work in does not help either but as soon as I'm done i will make sure the pics are up the same day. besides found out there is a fiber connection on both the radio and DVD changer so waiting on that to come in since i ordered a specific length

Posted by: my95lsc

Good luck and thanks for info.
