85 Town Car 5.0 Crank Kit

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: gradymotorco1

My 85 T/C crankshaft and bearings are worn slam out. I checked out the engine knock, and fairly sure it was worn out bearings, sent it to a friend who was the service manager at the local FoMoCo dealership for about 20 years. He agreed and I bought a reman crankshaft kit with new bearings. I also plan on replacing Rear Main Seal, and Oil Pump. My question is can I do all of this without removing the engine from the chassis. I know that you must raise the engine 3"-4" to clear the front crossmember, but with that done can the rest be removed from the block inside the car.
Thanks Dave
