Mk vii hvac blinks

I m having some concern w/my hvac control head. Diodes/lamps blink when on all controls seem to be operating normally/working. Any ideas? thanx

Try pulling codes. Press both OFF and DEFROST, then release and press AC (or VENT) within two seconds. If it reads anything other than 88 there is a fault.

nyclsc posted tech info from lol, great help. performed test and started working as designed, i know the car had a dead battery before purchase and only driven 2k in last 2 years, any relation?
