(wet ZEX 100 shot w/ WBC getting installed 5/23/06). My tuner is making me a file for this friday that raises the timing so i can run 103 octane race fuel. I will definatly post the video if it makes a difference. and I will post a video of when i run with the juice.

When your ready to get moving your temp guage should read alot colder. And leave the heat blasting right up until your next to line up then shut it off. It takes the heat from the engine and blasts it into the car, just turn the vents away from you so you die of heat exaustion.

I run my electric fans and my intercooler pump in my X when I am trying to cool the Kenne Bell 2.2 a little bit. It helps a tad, but nowhere near what it would if the damn thing had the elec water pump to circulate the cooled water to the hot engine too. It would cool off in no time like that! ![]() |

And you can really tell when you touch the engine itself.... just watch for your battery

Being that you have one of the faster LS's on this site how about you share some of your knowledge instead of being a smartass all the time?
What I am putting in is requiring a lot more wiring than a typical nitrous install though. But with our "one wheel wonder" rear ends the extra work that I am doing is pretty much a neccessity IMO. |

Mainly, I want to know what the update on that wet nitrous install of yours is. I am right smack dab in the middle of a nitrous install in my LS too. Lets just say that the drivers side rear COP cover bolt can kiss my AZZ! hehe. What I am putting in is requiring a lot more wiring than a typical nitrous install though. I want to take a looksee at that. |

i think i could definatly break into the 14's, i ran in d4 and was a little hesitant because it was my first time down a strip... also had half a tank of gas, no spare, and the bump was out. i prob will go back sunday so i will post better times. need to run w/ a 1/4 tank and get the aluminum intake tube and some nitrous

Get the 60' time down to a 2.0 and you're lookin' at a mid 14 second slip.

I wasn't trying to get technical and sit here rounding off numbers.

). Hot and humid out tonight, which I hate racing in, but whatever. Was just nice getting back out there again.

|
Second time out, 2 hours and 15 minutes later: 2.291 6.324 9.656 74.45 12.487 14.890 94.42 I need more seat time at the track in this car, because it's got a little more in it. That'll come in November when I trek down to ATL for the SSHS7 event. Plus, I need to go when it's cooler out. That KKM without a heat shield was blistering hot after my first run. Tonight might actually get me off my ass to build a shield for it finally. Half tank of gas, 4030 pounds with me in it (about 185). Mods are in the signature. |
|
I'm very well aware of that. As I'm sure you're aware that hot and humid isn't ideal for racing

You are not exactly stock so that would usually make up for the DA that you were probably experiencing then. What was the DA that day at your track anyways?

i got a relly good time in the 1/8 ill have to dig for the slip theres no 1/4th near hear anymore but i have a weird setup on my car and i also have smaller size tires and no mufflers im pretty sure i got a 9.07 at like 80 mph i cant remeber very well.

Here's a few runs from tonight with notes that I wrote on the slips..
42 degrees, 3926 pounds, 1k launch in SST mode, hit rev limiter in 2nd and car broke up/jerked in 4th: 60 - 2.259 330 - 6.237 1/8 -9.526 MPH - 75.52 1000 - 12.318 1/4 - 14.696 MPH - 94.03 No temp on slip, car said 43 degrees, SST with 1k launch, jerked a bit in 4th again: 60 - 2.261 330 - 6.215 1/8 - 9.455 MPH - 76.25 1000 - 12.238 1/4 - 14.606 MPH - 94.87 SST mode with 1k launch: 60 - 2.325 330 - 6.848 1/8 - 10.208 MPH - 74.17 1000 - 13.036 1/4 - 15.434 MPH - 93.21 3 cars ahead of me leaked oil on the track, car was the coldest it had been all night and right past the 60' mark, it broke the tire loose like I was in my old '87 and I had to let off. I think they missed an oil spot or two ![]() |

Why are you using 4th? I hit forth after I see the win light ...in either lane.
|
Still wound up with a better ET and a couple of 97mph passes.
If I could get this car to 60, it'd be a low 14 second car. Frustrating. lol

Yep. You can run 3rd gear through the traps. Heck, even when I was running 14.2's I wasn't shifting to 4th until juuuuuust getting into the traps. No reason a 14.6 ET LS will need to shift to 4th gear. Stay in 3rd and I am sure your ET's will improve. I ran my best times when I was commanding the shifts to happen right around 6,900-7,000 rpms.
|

|
Oh, and there's no way I can get through the traps in 3rd. I'm switching to fourth at about the 1000' mark or there about...and that's right about at 6500RPM.
![]() Here's the timeslip. Obviously on the right: |

Did they change the rear gear ratio for the 06? Everything I have seen is the 06 is 3.58?
Has anyone taken a 06 to the track? I'd like to hit 14.5's with mine, but I dont know if it will be able to run 3rd to the finish line. The online calculators say 3rd is good for 92mph, and I would assume it runs ~ 95-96mph stock, so that would really be pushing it past 6500 rpm. |
