ANy word on LSE kits?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: J3FF

Hey Ken, is there any word on the LSE kits comming in??

Posted by: GrayGhost1

I spoke with the manufacturer last week. They said that they are still behind on making bumpers for the big three. So, this project is still on hold. They did not give me any indication when they'll be available for purchase. I plan to call them at least twice a week starting on Monday.

Posted by: J3FF

Way to take charge Ken! They must not realize the demand for this produt. I can sware at least 20 people on the site would buy that kit. And who knows about llsoc, as these LS's get older they are more prone to younger buys, and you know that the LSE kit possibly the best-looking kit out there.

what about the intakes?

There were suppose to be completed last week. However, they did not get shipped out. I'm on them too like a bulldog!

Posted by: J3FF

I'm sure you will let us know when those people give you some sort of time on that kit right? Those will sell like crazy Ken. I should have bought it when I had the chance, CRAP!!

Posted by: SolacE

i just need the rear piece....ugh

Posted by: GrayGhost1

I have indicated to the manufacturer that this will sell. However, they make thousands on thousands of bumpers for GM, Ford and others. So, this is really a low volume run for them and I can appreciate their stance on this. However, it sure isn't helping the folks that want this kit. I called them Monday and I'll call them again today. They'll get sick and tired of me calling that they'll make the damn kits! At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Posted by: 00ls-sport

not to be a PITA(which i am), but can you squeeze the balls of the intake manufacturer a little tighter as well. i was hoping to have it before the meet i am hosting at my house this weekend. i know that is impossible now, but would like to have it soon.

ken, update...i got it and it is at our bodyshop being painted. the powdercoaters all wanted too much $ imo. thanks again.

Ken can we go ahead a pay for them now...so that expedite somewhat....thanks grdur3

Posted by: GrayGhost1

I'd rather not take any payments at this time just simply due to the fact that the manufacturer can not give me an exact date. I have been calling them weekly and they still haven't started the manufacturing process. I'm still on them!

Posted by: J3FF

If you called them everyday they would probably cancel their deal with you right? lol

Posted by: GrayGhost1

I call twice a week. They just say "we haven't begun production yet" and that's about it. The sales person I deal with is pushing the manufacturing guys but they have their own schedule. I'll keep on them.

Posted by: GrayGhost1

The latest word today came from the president of the company. He told me that they are about 3 months behind on all of their major bumper sales. So, this means that the LSE kits will not be produced until late summer around August.

I'm very aggravated to say the least about this. I stressed my frustration since the last kit that was sold was the first week of January. All we can do is wait and hopefully they call with some good news that kits are in production. I sincerely apologize for this but there is nothing I can do about it.

My two times a week calls did get escalated to the president so that was at least a good sign.

Posted by: J3FF

That's alright Ken, it's not your fault...people in the U.S. just do not want to work, they want to be spoonfed everything. I garuntee you that if we had japanese people working on them, then they would have them no problem.

I am full blood American, but it just seems that the Japanese really know what they are doing. And to think we once flattened out their country and not look at how far ahead they are in technology!!

Posted by: J3FF

So Ken, are they going to call you when the kits are in production, or do you have to call in and check?

Posted by: GrayGhost1

They are still saying August but no other word as of yet.

Posted by: J3FF

I know I'm pushin this, but...anything yet?

Posted by: GrayGhost1

I spoke with the manufacturer last week. They are saying October now. Seems a little ridiculous now. I'd say move onto the newer LSE body kit.

Posted by: rrrick

Does this mean you're giving up on offering the LSE kit for the older models?

I'm not giving up. I'll continue to bug them but it isn't looking good since they own the molds on the LSE body kit.

Posted by: GrayGhost1

Guess what? The body kits will ready to be sold this week. The manufacturer is finishing up the front bumper cover early this week so we'll be ready to start taking orders for the kits.

Now, the down side is that they will not be selling the kits with aftermarket fog lights or exhaust tips and s-pipes. We already sell the OEM fog lights so that isn't a problem. The only issue will be the pipes. We may look into finding a company to make the s-pipes but at this time it won't be included with the kit. You're best bet is to take it to a local muffler shop and have them make a custom set of s-pipes to re-route the exhaust tips.

Pricing looks to stay the same eventhough you would not be getting the fog lights or the exhaust tips. Chalk it up to inflation on the manufacturer's part.

Good news though they decided to start making the kits again!

I knew this would happen. Alright well, time to get rid of the kit I've got. How much are they running?

what kit do you have?

Posted by: Midas78

Grayghost, what's going on with the LSKoncepts gallery? Its the easiest place to see modded LS's, car domain is super slow, and you have to hunt through gallery listing on here. I want to see some pics of a wings west kit on a black LS and I know there was one in the gallery.

Thanks!

Posted by: J3FF

I didnt want to start a new thread, but Ken, do you know if there are any 2002 LSE spoilers running around out there?

I have the original LSE spoiler in my garage. I have been holding onto it thinking I'd use it on another LS if I got one. However, if you really want it I'll sell it for $350. I don't want to sell it but anything is for sell! This spoiler is painted black but would probably need to be repainted. Also, it attaches using 3M double sided tape so no drilling. That's how all of them attached. If interested let me know.

Something happened to the gallery when the company hosting my website changed or upgraded their software. I have been working on getting the customer gallery back up but have had other things that took priority. I'm hoping to have it back up in about two weeks. Also, we are working on a classified section on the website too. This way LS owners can buy and trade in one spot!
