Exhaust ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey guys

I decided that i need a nice sounding exhaust with some nice tips that can actualy be seen

So the question is which exhausts should i get magnaflow? i dont want it to be loud but i do want the muscle sound at idle and when driving but just not a loud one, kind of like 99-04 Mustang GT or quiter..

And what should i make the size of the pipe? 2.5"? and from cat back or what?

Can i expect any Hp gain when combined with a Air intake Modufication?? (The one in tech)

Thanks guys

i havent done mine so im not gonna answer anything except the HP question, the answer would be yes.. u will increase ur HP some with the INtake AND exhaust..

Posted by: BanginLS

also remember.. that if u add the intake after u install the exhaust.. the exhaust will sound somewhat diff.

Is it good or bad??

there are many, many threads on this topic - some with sound bites, some with people telling about the results (happy or disappointed) and costs.

there is alot of reading but good research. we shouldn't start yet another thread on it.

sorry wasn't trying to be a jerk - the more and more we start new threads on the same topics the more meaningless the search becomes and the harder it gets to find anything. Often there are really good posts with a lot of insight - but a year later it gets so buried under less informative posts.

searching for 'brakes' or 'performance' or 'exhaust' turns up too many threads to be of any use now.

Sorry, but I have a question and it's kinda off topic. When Bangin LS said that the sound would be different if you install the intake after the magnaflow, then which sounds better? I already have my intake on my car, and the magnaflow is sitting in the garage waiting to be put on. If it sounds better the other way around I'll just have to redo it!!

I think he meant - 'the way a custom exhaust sounds will be different if you have a custom intake or not'.

not implying that there is a specefic order to do these mods.
