Suede Headliner

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: lsquire

I want to put a black suede headliner in my LS, but the shop by my house wants crazy money to do it and I know I could do it myself. Anyone know any place to buy the materials, or anyone have any idea the difficulty of a project like this? thanks

I know someone has it in the ls already and It looks hot, If you know you can do it than you shouldnt have a problem with it....

Good luck and let us know

the quote down her ein miami is 800 for the headliner without the arms.. kinda steep..

Make sure you are getting real suede though. Unless you want to save some cash you can get fake, and noone but you will know the difference. I got two quotes down here in SD 1k for top and pillars (real suede) $435 with a fake suede and the shift knob was included. He brought two pieces outta the back and had me pick which was real and which was fake...couldn't tell the difference until he showed me the backing. I thought about doin it but I changed my mind not enough bang for the buck.

I am getting the suede headliner put in soon.

It cost me $250 for the material and probably another $400 in labor for just the headliner, no pillars.

haha....I bought my wheels last month brand new from a shop goign out of business. Got them on a sic deal....its awesome to watch everyone pull out their camera phones when Im at a light. Anyways, I do have a set of 20's for an LS im trying to sell. They are Panther 410C Sizzr's and are in 95% perfect condition. I can post pics if anyone is interested. Im so confused about the headliner...I found a place where I can buy the material for about 40 bucks a yard (its faux) but Im not sure I can tackle a project like that. I would like to know if anyone has done it themselves...please help!
Thanks

post pics of the rims and let me know how much u want? tires and all? etc..

i have wrapped my trunk in vinyl.. not sure if it's the same.. but there is a material glue.. and all u have to do is take off ur stock headliner and cut the new fauz ur gettin the same size.. actually a lil bigger.. then get the glue.. and make sure u glue the headliner very well.. u dont want the headliner sagging... then for the edges.. either wrap them around the edge, or have someone stich the edges for u..

I'm going to do mine when the shop has a spot open. They are charging me now loads less because they thought I wanted more. I am going to do the headliner, the A, B, C pillars, the sun visors, and the rear deck lid in black suede. the job should take two days, and its going to run me 400 plus tip or tax, whichever i prefer to give (tip prolly).

ima do the work at rivero upholstery, i like them cause they have my last name and I have seen the work they do, top of the line. any questions on this please let me know.
