Shaking Mirror

The drivers side mirror on my '03 Navigator shakes and vibrates excessively at highway speeds. Has anyone dealt with this kind of problem with their dealer?

I reported it to a ford dealer who did some other work on my truck and and they said they replaced the motor, but its no better.

I've had this problem with both outside mirrors on my '05 Aviator - the vibrate / wiggle at speeds between 50-60 mph. I took it into the dealer shortly after I bought it to have them look at the problem. I think they replaced the motors in both sides, but that did not have any noticeable impact.

It's not a big deal, but it is annoying when you pay that much for a vehicle and the mirrors vibrate at speed. I've never noticed that problem on an Explorer, which is essentially the same vehicle, only cheaper.

05 Navi owner...no shakes here. Just don't crack the glass on the heated side view mirrors...cost me well over 300.00 to have the whole mirror replaced!

Damn mirrors shake at any RPM over 100. Dealer said that if I drink 50 cups of coffee, my shakes will be at the same frequency as the mirrors, and they should cancel each other out.

My T-bird used to do that at over 80 mph - I put rubber washers on the body to mirror bolts. Worked fine and sealed better than orginal to boot!
