Come On. I've PM'd you again and again. Stay out of each other's way. That's the only standard you need worry about in this forum.

I have to point out that I am very disappointed in your board. You summarily edit comments, as if they are inappropriate, when in fact you are overprotecting Barry. Why? Did he donate a lot of money to this board?

I think, with your approach, Bryan, that you will implode your board.

As Barry says, that is my opinion, or, more properly phrased, my belief.

First of all, I have not made a penny from this board so if Barry gave money, I certainly didn't see it.

Second. If the board implodes, it will be because people (like you) can't follow a few simple rules of etiquette, or (in your case), one simple rule. Stay out of Barry's posts and he'll stay (and if he doesn't I'll delete his comments) out of yours.

Feel free to comment on anybody else's thread. In the case of you and Barry and the past history, (I) decided to draw the line for the benefit of everyone here.

You and Barry had at it on another board and where did that lead?

I have never met Barry and I certainly don't protect the guy. Heck, if I took things personally, just his stance on Bush would get him sent packing. But I practice tolerance, here on this board and in my life.

You won't have to worry about me stepping on your toes if you stay off Barrys. Pretty simple as I see it.

Actually, I have advocated rational, polite discussion amongst both sides. Perhaps you missed it.

If I remember the story correctly, she's another do-gooder, anti-war nut running around Iraq, looking to inciminate and attack the United States. She's kidnapped, held hostage, and the translator she's with is KILLED.

So, what does she say when released? She almost praised those murderers.

It's sort of like the story last week where the Army released the do-gooder, socialist hippy idiots, and they refused to publically thank them.

She indicated she didn't know what would happen if she tried to leave. She used the word 'leave', not escape, which indicates to me she may not have been captive. Plus, she had on the typical Iraqi women's dress code when she was 'rescued'.

And yes, hostages do bring out the sympathizers on the Left. Hostages also serve to keep the anti-war message in the news.

I think the whole thing is a set-up to make the US look bad. It appears her agenda is no different now then before the "kidnapping".

I don't believe that anyone could be in "captivity" that long without showing some signs of duress. She said she was never threatened. I saw two men with hoods and machine guns in their hands standing behind her while she shed crocadile tears pleading to let Iraqi women out of prison. What BS. Women are so devalued by Mulims that no organization is going to kidnap a Westerner for the sole purpose setting Iraqi women free. Sound like just her agenda to me. I was suspicious about this from the beginning. So many deadlines passed with no action.

I agree with you Bryan that hostages are typically a hot button with liberals but my observation is that this became a rallying cry for the conservatives this time.

It is just my opinion but, as Bryan often says, "Follow the money".

This is the text of journalist Jill Carroll's statement from Ramstein Airbase in Germany as it appeared Saturday on The Christian Science Monitor Web site:

I'm so happy to be free and am looking forward to spending a lot of time with my family. I want to express my deep appreciation to all the people who worked so long and hard for my release. I am humbled by the sympathy and support expressed by so many people during my kidnapping.

In the past few days, the U.S. military and officials have been extremely generous, and I am grateful for their help. Throughout this ordeal, many U.S. agencies have committed themselves to bringing me safely home.

My colleagues at The Christian Science Monitor have worked ceaselessly to secure my release, and worked with security consultants to do so. Many other news organizations, both inside and outside of Iraq, as well as many officials from Iraq and other countries, worked hard to bring about my freedom.

So many people around the world spoke out on my behalf.

Thank you, all of you.

During my last night in captivity, my captors forced me to participate in a propaganda video. They told me they would let me go if I cooperated. I was living in a threatening environment, under their control, and wanted to go home alive. I agreed.

Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views. They are not. The people who kidnapped me and murdered Alan Enwiya are criminals, at best. They robbed Alan of his life and devastated his family. They put me, my family and my friends -- and all those around the world, who have prayed so fervently for my release -- through a horrific experience. I was, and remain, deeply angry with the people who did this.

I also gave a TV interview to the Iraqi Islamic Party shortly after my release. The party had promised me the interview would never be aired on television, and broke their word. At any rate, fearing retribution from my captors, I did not speak freely. Out of fear I said I wasn't threatened. In fact, I was threatened many times.

Also, at least two false statements about me have been widely aired: That I refused to travel and cooperate with the US military and that I refused to discuss my captivity with US officials. Again, neither is true.

I want to be judged as a journalist, not as a hostage. I remain as committed as ever to fairness and accuracy -- to discovering the truth -- and so I will not engage in polemics. But let me be clear: I abhor all who kidnap and murder civilians, and my captors are clearly guilty of both crimes.

Now, I ask for the time to heal. This has been a taxing 12 weeks for me and my family. Please allow us some quiet time alone, together.

All of you need to get a clue. This is simply evidence, finally, that so-called Islamo-fascists are actually reasonable, clear-thinking, pragmatic freedom fighters who are only trying to get justice for their afflicted people who were provoked into an unjust war by the oil-thirsty, Halliburton-sucking, warmongering Bush administration.

What we need to do is pull our own terrorists-in-uniform out of Iraq, and surrender to North Korea and Iran while we're at it. All these guys want to do is negotiate. Geez. If we had only listened in the first place, 9/11 would never have happened. This is all our own stupid fault for being money-hungry infidels.
