Thinking of selling the LSK car....

I have been thinking of selling my LSE for some time now. I've been wanting to buy a more recent year LS like a 2005 LSE or 2006 LS to start messing around for more aftermarket parts. I'd sell the LS as it sits with everything on it. I pulled up Kelly Blue Book and here is what it said:

2001 Lincoln LS V8
Sport
83,000 miles
Excellent to good condition (overall)
Mechanically sound
Body perfect
Interior excellent

Private Party = $12,870
Suggested Retail = $15,500

Now those prices are bone stock. I'd have to give some consideration on some of the aftermarket items on the car. Here is a breakdown on the upgrades and estimated costs associated with them:

Stainless Steel CAI Tube and KKM Filter Kit (est. $480)
Magnaflow Exhaust System (est. $650)
StopTech Big Brake Kit all 4 wheels (est. $5,000)
OZ Racing Wheels Chrome Plated (one of a kind)/Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Tires (est. $2,500)
Eibach Pro Kit Springs (est. $300)
New Sport OEM Shocks (est. $300)
LSE Body Kit with LSE spoiler (est. $1,200)

Too many other custom items to mention.....
TOTAL ESTIMATED ADD ONS = $12,930

I'm thinking that if I were to advertise this I'd shoot for around $19,000 as it sits. I know that there is a limited market for this particular car with everything on it. I will NOT part it out. Man i hate to see that car gone but you right, 2000 is a little old and i know you could do some nice damage to an 05',06'. I cant wait. Anyone who buys that car will have my envy along with every other LS owner.

Nah. Probably get an 05 LSE and play around with it. I'd like to have a truck but a car is more practical.

Actually it's 2001 not a 2000. However, it's not because it's old but that it's time move onto a later model LS. Trust me, it isn't an easy decision. It's been my baby for over 4 years!

Man I hate to see you get ride of your ride. It's one of the sweetest one's on here, IMO. But at least you've still got your whits about cha and are looking for another LS

. Two good things I see coming out of this though. 1)Hopefully someone on here that will respect a good LS can buy your ride if you decide to sell or point another unknowing lucky person your way that would love a good ride, and 2)Maybe with you buying an 05 or 06, you can tweek a few things and get some more product out there for the 03+ guys.

Good luck on your decision. I couldn't imagine what your thought could be right now.

The decision wasn't an easy one but I have realized that I must get a later model LS to start tweaking around on it. I just hope who ever buys it will appreciate all the hard work involved. I know I have enjoyed working on it.

Ken, man, that car is one of the best examples of Lincoln LS, are you sure you want to sell it? I have driven 03 and up LS 4 times, V6 and V8, it's good, at some points it's better than the 00-02 LS, but to me, it is not as good to change an early LS for. I mean especially like an LS that you have. I would keep it. At least keep the big brakes.

Hey, this is so off subject but...I have read an article on how someone in one of those arabian countries made their Audi from Pure Platinum. THE WHOLE THING, besides running elements (Engine, suspension, ECU ect.) Could you imagine driving that thing down the road? I can't imagine those Arabs screaming bladibbadeedoobadeedee!!! and flippin the guy off, then of course hitting a Camal.
