Okay guys, I am doing this for my best friend, Butch who is having a hell of a time trying to hook up his audio system E8VF-18T805-AB. I think he needs the schematics? Hey! I am a woman so I am not sure what the hell I am talking about can anybody please tell me cause my friend is loosing his mind working on this damn thing all the time. I know that he cannot or does not want to order the book from Ford, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx
Okay, I just spoke with Butch and what he really wants to know is, is there any relays, or circuit breakers or fuses in the speaker system not know about. He only knows about the one on the maine fuse box...........or is it a possibility that is amp is gone, shot????? thanxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What is the exact problem he is having? No power to the radio, no sound?

Posted by: bitchinbutch

He has power but no sound is coming out of his speakers....Could it be the amp or circuit breaker relay???? Thanx, hope to hear from you soon CrookShanks...Thanxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!!

Does he have the "premium" package sound?

If so - he has an OEM amp that's housed in the trunk - under the rear speakers. Kinda looks like a football.

When I had my aftermarket installed i had them do completely NEW wiring using 8 gague (yes, heavy wiring - but I love my BASS that I push through the speakers)

I think he'll have to by-pass the amp and to do that you need to get a harness adaptor (or IMHO the better route - rewire the whole thing. That's what I would do! Hope this helps!!)

(BTW - I own a 1987 Town Car that had that amp (Premium Package Sound System)

if you are saying the amp is shot and if so can I replace it with another or is your route the better??? I really appreciate your help and anything else you could tell me would be great. No one has told me if there is a circuit breaker, fuse, or relay????? Could you tell me if so???????? Thanks again, and I appreciate the help.............

There is more then likely a fuse in the amp, but there is none in the wiring to the speakers. I would look at the amp and make sure all the connections are there and if possible test the wires going out to the speakers for power.

If it is indeed the premium sound then it sounds like the amp.

on my old school town car, the speakers were just so old they no longer made noise.

alright so my lincoln is a bit newer than your but i did do all the audio stuff myself.. if he isnt gettin any sound to the stock speakers in the car it might be the amp.. for my car there were 2 ways i could have ran the wires for my cd player.. i could have bought a module to convert the factory wires so that they were compatible with the head unit (cd player).. i chose to get a bypass kit.. In the back of my car i have the stock amp to the left and to the right a crossover.. its just a big silver box.. that big silver box has a little rectangular harness hanging off of it.. you can buy the plug in harness you need to just send a signal that way.. but if you get the bypass harness kit you wont be able to use the stock amp that comes if you have a premium sound system.. however if you are putting subwoofers in the car you wont need the stock amp anyways.. my regular speakers in my door get plenty loud enough to equal out and sound good.. however the stock speakers dont have much bass to them.. the bypass is the cheaper way to do it.. if you go to your local circuit city or whatever and ask them for one im sure they would have one.. it was 25$ for me... but it saved me tons of time.. all you have to do after that is just run the wires on the side of the car.. from the harness in the back to the head unit in the front.. the schematics for your headunit should have came with it.. as for the new wires... well if you need the new schematics for the new wires.. jus lemmie know.. i can find them for you...
