Strut Covers FYI

These don't really fit on the 2006 LS Sport (3.9L V8).

The right side fits OK and I could kind-of, sort-of get the left side fastened on where it would stay (the fastener hole on the cover doesn't quite match up with the hole in the engine well), but the hood won't close. Probably the reason Lincoln didn't put them on the car. The hood has a thick layer of sound-deadening foam and just doesn't leave enough clearance where the boxy part of the LH cover is.

It's a shame, cause they look great in there and I was really tickled until I tried to close the hood. I think what I really need are 2 RH covers, cause I think the RH one would fit on the LH side.

I'm trying to decide if I want to try to shave some plastic off the cover and foam off the hood to make room for it, or just post the covers for sale.

Scott,

Lincoln has not changed anything on the LS under the hood aesthetically. Those should fit perfectly. Email me and we can discuss.

Just wanted to share that I got these to fit. I took about 1/8" off the bottom of the round portion of the LH side and also raised my hood latch about 1/8". Also should say that I talked to one LvC poster who was able to install these as-is on his 2006 with no fussing around, so I guess it was just me.
