Misfire Has Occurred In Cylinder #7!!!!!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: emailguy20732

check engine light came on today, took it to autozone and got the P0307 code...ok...i've searched and found out this could be caused by several different things. my question is how do i diagnose what actually IS causing this? i don't really want to take it to the dealer to diagnose it (trust issues ) any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

'01 V8 34k miles

If I were a betting man I would put all my money on the coilpack for that cylinder. Your valve cover seal is more than likely leaking oil into your spark plug well and shorting out the coil pack. It already has or WILL happen to all lincoln ls's that have the old style seals in them. New coil packs are $35.00 from autozone and your gaskel seal kit is $44.00 dollars from your local stealership

And if it has been raining don't be surprised if you have water in there and not oil but it could be just a bad coil if you've never changed any before

Is your car still under warranty - if so let the dealer handle it

Unless he has an extended warranty, his car's warranty is long gone.

4 Years / 50K miles, whichever comes first.

could be fouled plug.. could be bad wire.. more than likely will be coil pack..
