91 seville intermitted stalling no crank

hi everyone i bought a 91 seville stolen recovery stering colum busted underneth doorlock missing. car starts runs fine sometimes.i cansometimes drive 50 miles with no problems.then it will just die i coast to side of road. when i turn the key no crank no clicks nothing info center on dash says system problem.i have to let it set for awhile then it fires right up runs like new untill next time it decides to quit.i checked codes iget cam possiton senser prob, ecm losing contact with bcm. any thoughts thanks in advanse steveo

I'd fix that column.

There are wires under there you don't even want to know about..

Also - see if there's a short or something going on..

One simple, free thing to check is the condition of the battery terminals and ground strap. My SDV turned to a lifeless lump of metal in my garage one morning when the battery connections, which I thought were fine, suddenly went to an open circuit.

mine was dying as you describe. Terminal connectors did not look bad, but I changed them anyway...............and no more problems.
