What is the little lever next to the glove box handle?

Right next to the glove box handle, there is a little "hook" that pops out. What is this for? I've always been curious about it.

i believe its for purses. since its a "MANS" car and all women sit in the passanger seat, i think this is to hold theyre purse

It's a panty hanger. You'll get a lot of women in your LS, some of them are skanks, so you don't want to get your floor dirty.

i thought it was to put hangers on.. but then i figured that the clothe would drag on the floor.. this panty thing sounds a LOT better.. but in all honesty.. when i pipe in my car.. they leave the panty on.. jus move it to the side.. u know how girls are.. if a girls panties get that close to my glove box.. its goin inside and im locking it to put in my "secluded" shoe box..

Nope, I have 18" Moda R6's on it. I own a silver '00 Sport V8 with mclaren grill.

I have HRE 545's on my Supra though
