hey ken about the cold air intake pipe, the two hoses that look similar, and connect to the pipe,
are they supposed to be hand tight or do i have them on wrong because the can easily come on and off
im gonna go buy some jb weld if i need but wanted to here ur advice first
the intake does work though but i thiink theres a small leak but not sure where if not in those 2 hoses
ill figure it out sure enough

and also how would u go about getting the temp sesor hooked up in the pipe because i think it threw my engine light on since its not connected

Ian,

The two hoses that have the funny looking plastic rings on the end just slide in and should be a tad bit snug. There is an o-ring on both to keep them in place. I wouldn't recommend using a sealant or similar to keep them in place.

When you say temp sensor are you talking about the one that is facing the front of the car? It should pull out of the old intake without much issue. Just be careful not to break the end of it that goes into the tube.

maby i have my part names wrong then but its the wire harness that has nowhere to plug in

nevermind ken i just figured it out there was still a piece connected in my old intake pipe i needed LMAO im such a rookie

With that being said did your Check Engine Light go away?? Thats the only reason i don't have one yet.. The last car i had (00 Toyota Solara) i bought a reg air intake (metal tube and filter head) and it only had openings for hoses that were supposed to go into the tube but not the sensor so i had to jerry-rigg it to the frame which did no good because it wasn't serving a purpose... This CAI that you have, is it a direct professional replacement of your stock in terms of sensor and hose placement???

The replacement intake tube is just that a replacement. All vacuum hoses and fittings fit where they are suppose to. I have had the stainless steel intake tube on my LS for over 3 years and never had a CEL come on.

^What he said....Going on a year now and no problems. There are no left over pieces when your done. IIRC, there are only 3 things to hook up. 2 hoses and 1 sensor.
