police package sway bars

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: sideshowstunna

does anyone know where can I get police package sway bars, and are any modifications required to install them, or do they just bolt on my 91 sig. town car?

Posted by: Black87LSC

I don't know about the '91, but I have to drill out my lower control arms and bolt it in. I'm not sure what applications fit the '91 T/C.

Posted by: Nakoa

do those interfere witht he quality of ride?

Posted by: Black87LSC

Not at all, it just reduces body roll. It makes a HUGE difference!

Brian, did you put the Police sway bars on your Town Car yet?

Posted by: Black87LSC

Nah not yet... I had them on my Grand Marquis and I took them off when I sold it. I just need to gather up the ambition to drill out those control arms. Probably within the next month or so, once it starts getting warm

Posted by: sideshowstunna

so does anyone know where i can get a hold of some?

Posted by: Black87LSC

You could try Addco or another aftermarket company. I got mine out of the local boneyard out of a crown vic, but those are few and far between. I don't know about the '91, but on my car they used all the same diameter on the front. So, you probably won't need to change the front.

Hopefully i can get some for my Town Car

What size bars come standard on an 02 TC Sig? I would love to upgrade and control the body roll. If anyone has a set for sale or can point me in the right direction I sure would appreciate it.

A non-touring 98-02 would have a 27.8mm front and a 17mm rear.

You have two options,
First, a 29.5 mm CVPI/CNG front sway bar and a HPP/Marauder 21mm rear swaybar - both factory parts

OR, ADDCO front and rear swaybars - which measure 1.25" (31.75mm) front 1" (25.4mm) rear

If you want to go the larger factory bar route, I have the part numbers for each on the modification page for my marquis, under suspension:
www.crownvic.net/drock96marquis/MERCmods.htm
THese bars are a direct fit for 1995-2002 panthers. The rear swaybar interchanges 1992+

The ADDCO bars come in 92-02 front, 03+ front and 92+ rear. They can be purchased from www.adtr.net

The Addco bars are a lot bigger. Has anyone used them and what are the results? Drock how would you rate the improvement on your Mark?
