Finally found the in-dash CD unit the hooked up to my JVC changer in my trunk. No more FM modulator. Works great, Good Sound.

I can play a single CD from my Dash or use my 12 Dics in my trunk. This is a direct set up no FM signal.

Changer can random play all 12 discs. This is great.

I know many of you hare big Audio buffs but for those of us looking for something to replace our OME units and not spend a ton here is an option.

I got mine off eBay again I've been lucky to find a good unit that is in good condition and I didn't have to pay much.

I got at JVC KD SX 840 in dash unit and a CH X200 12 Disc changer.

System works great and very little time to set up.

I like the one that come in the newer fords with in dash 6 cd player

Another good thing about my system - I paid only $75 for the whole thing. In dash unit and 12 disc changer.

Plus if the changer takes a crapper I can pick another one up for about $30.

It's just a nice option for someone who doesn't have a lot of cash to through on a big system or doesn't want to pay a ton for a used OME unit.

Sweeet! Right up my alley for the ease of repair and lack of despair!

Nice set up rich - congrats! Here are some specs for those interested.

The KDSX840 is a CD changer control CD receiver with 2 pairs of lineout terminals. It has a white LED backlight display which shows the level meter, volume meter, and an illuminated standby power switch. It also has a detachable control panel with a rotary encoder. This unit is also comes with a remote control. The CD changer control has direct disc select and 2 random/repeat play modes.

What is also very nice is that I have a system that would have retailed for over $500 and I paid less than $100. System sounds great with the stock JBL speakers and looks nice it the car also. I'll take pics and post them.

Also what is nice is that There is only one cable coming from the CD changer and it plugs right into the back. Also there are more features to the set up than the Stock system. System comes with a remote control. Plus the full random play mode is nice. You can go through all your CDs while driving.

Before with the JVC changer running through the FM modulator (although it worked fine) you lost some power and every so often you would get a little static due to an FM signal cross when you entered some areas.

eBay is loaded with these changers. Also the cable is available in case the changer you would win doesn't come with one. (I have found that many sellers don't sell all the components with their changers, and the cables cost over $70 from JVC. But there are aftermarket cables on eBay for under $20.

Sweet. Nice to have an option. How bright is the back light? Reason Iask is we had a short lived JVC in out standg and at night you could hardly see the thing. We swapped out with another and no better.

Breast Buy ended up putting back the org unit and gave us our $$ back + 10% off coupon.

What gives you that Idea

Here are some pics. Oh Mr. Wilson notice the Hard Buttons on the AC control unit. Looks just like the 93-94 soft breakable units.
