Shaking + engine temp is low?

I'm asking for my sister, who has a '96 Mark VIII. She started the car this morning, the car shook, the engine light came on, and the engine temp was very low.

Now searching around this forum seems to suggest a combination of things- the plugs, or plug wires, or fuel injectors, or fuel pump, or bad maf, or bad computer??

Boy am I glad I got an LS instead.

It could be anything, you need to tell her to have the codes checked by an OBD2 scanner.
