how do i remove the climate control unit,do i need to remove the radio?this is on a 1995 mark viii.

also, has anyone ever replaced the lights in the climate control unit?i have one or two not lighting up.

thanks

All you have to do is remove the trim (2 screws on the bottom), remove 4 screws for the climate control, and then remove the 2 plugs and the 2 small retaining nuts for the vacuum hoses in the back. That's it, takes maybe 3 minutes to do. As far as lights, I believe that there are instructions on the unit itself for light replacement.

Here.....this should help.

On the 95-96 if i remember correctly the shifter surround is held in by clips, not screws like the 93-94, and the radio surround on the 95-96 is held in at the bottom by the 2 screws that hold the shifter surround on the 93-94. So, you would have to pull the shifter surround first and then remove the screws at the bottom of the radio surround and then remove the surround to get at the screws that hold the HVAC controller in...hope that helps.

awesome,that helped a bunch,
now i need to find some new bulbs,i have 3 or 4 burned out total,i tried using some from my 93 parts car and they are larger and wont work,

are they dealer only bulbs?

thanks folks

I am not sure what size the bulbs are in the HVAC unit, but if you can take a pic and post it, or send it to me (wykdmk8@hotmail.com), I can see where to get them....or maybe someone with a 95-96 can help with the bulb size.
