1992 TC JBL Audio system

Has anyone else had mega problems with this sound system? I have replaced the trunk mounted black amp numerous times over the years, a subwoofer this year, and now the CD player stopped working. The radio still plays. Any suggestions? Is there a way to replace/incorporate components with aftermarket products ?

Just replace with an aftermarket stereo... You can still use the stock amp, but why if it is giving you so many problems...

Actuatlly, I would NOT use the stock amp with an after market stereo... Chances are the stereo had a better built in amp that will power your speakers much better...

Jimmies Radio on Indian School and 16th St in Phoenix is the one who repairs these defective amps ( not sure if it was limited to 1992 only) for me. They claim, as other aftermarket sellers I have talked to, that you can't incorporate the JBL set-up with an after-market stereo. Bypassing the amp won't produce the same sound as original because of the 6" subwoofer assembly being bypassed. I don't know if it really is true or not.
