im not really sure but, i think my intake manifold cracked today. i pulled in the driveway and noticed the inside of the car smelled like burnt antifreeze, so i popped the hood and right under the intake maifold it was pooring antifreeze into the gully under the intake maifold so did it crack or is it somthing else.

PLEASE HELP

Thanks

p.s. its a 96 tc executive with 118K

could be the gasket ,that happend to me on my fox , just a small pin hole that i had a hard time finding .
had to climb across the top of the engine to see were the hole was
then clean it with a small grinder bit on a dremmil tool and fill with gasget
sealer for a temp fix

i dont recomend this for large holes or long term repair but it did work to get me home

Most likely possibility is the cracked coolant crossover directly behind the alternator. Requires intake manifold replacement.

Another possibliity is the heater core water supply line which also sits under the intake manifold.

It should be fairly easy to tell which of these two is actually leaking at this time just by close inspection.

118k miles on the original manifold is quite an accomplishment, you must be driving like my grandma

Things to consider:
The manifold WILL fail eventually, so IF its just the heater supply line leaking, the labor to replace just that line is so intensive many folks opt to replace the old 100% composite manifold at the same time.

IF the manifold crossover is cracked and leaking, it would be a good time to replace that heater supply line, even if it appears to be in good shape. Getting back in there later can be a nightmare.

These parts are available everywhere now, Gorman makes a very nice kit that has everything manifold related for a quick swap. Aftermarket manifolds so far, have a good reputation so you don't absolutely need the OEM part. The heater supply hose is a dealer item at about $20 depending on where you go.

As for the cracking manifold lawsuit, and getting repairs or reimbursement for your 1996, it's too late -- you and I are not covered.

This is a fairly simple DIY job with only basic mechanics tools and a free afternoon. Allow up to 4 hours if you like to keep everything clean.

My uncle needed a new manifold cost over 400 he sad. Did ford get rid of this manifold in later models.
