What are you going to do with the supercharger? Are you going to leave it stock?

Also - is this going on a gen 2? If so I am VERY interested in how the hood fits with the supercharger

Posted by: phreakness

Stainless steel exhaust pipes

Posted by: phreakness

I've taken about 10 motors from the top, and never from the bottom. looking at it I was determined to take it from the top again but I have some brackets to fab up so I needed a clear view of the k-member so dropping it was going to be the best way. on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7 for difficulty but it will go down to a 5 or lower after i've done it a few times. Its just so many things on this car and this engine that make it hard but in the end I think I'll do it from the bottom.

I had some good friends over that has droped the k's many times before and that made it easier I look at the drop if I had to do it alone and it would be 7

Posted by: Lincolnpimpin

Man I thought about that, then guy up at parts said I would have to get a new tranny and computer for it too.

Posted by: k9t8m

That car is gonna b SICK! I find it funny that your doing what everyone else wants to do, but does not have the funds and\or knowhow to do it. Keep us updated.

You should also think about taking pictures and making detailed notes to make it easier for whomever does this in the future.

You keep me posted real good on this project. When I asked about this at other mark 8 forums, they poo-poo'd all over the idea and basically said it was impossible, but if somebody does it, I will be the next to follow. I honestly don't know how it can be done, but I do have the funds to do it and the first to follow.

Posted by: Joeychgo

No, its not impossible. The only REAL problem could be the hood.

Ive been contemplating something like this for some time. But Im looking a little stronger at another option <Evil Grin>

Posted by: Dominus

If the hood is the only "problem", then I am not concerned. My friend molds carbon fiber and fiberglass professionally. Whatever fitment issues there are, they can be easily solved.

Posted by: Dern Humpus

hood problems can be easily fixed

Posted by: hotrodlincoln93

i believe my cobra R hood would clear the supercharger... now if only i had an 03 cobra motor lol haha.. so what about the computers.. do u have to get a new one or what? id love to but a cobra motor in mine with the 5 spd someday. congrats tho man.. your makin us all proud

Posted by: JoeyLincolnMK8

when your talking about the computer ya cant look at it as an 03 cobra motor in a mark 8 its a mark VIII motor with a blower and built bottom end. basicly a mark VIII motor with a vortec running 15+psi of boost

Cool!

Posted by: mhinchley

thier are a lot of things I could deal with a odd shaped hole in my hood isn't one of them .

Posted by: 67Continental

i could deal with an odd shaped holw in my hood if i was making 500 plus hp like my friend with the Z06 sporting an odd shaped hole in the hood...

Posted by: MrWilson

Just cut the hole bigger and turn it into a shaker.

Looking for an update!!!

Posted by: phreakness

the thread have to go dark untill its started and on the road (within the next few days) I've got some import / ricer locally that are trying to sabatoge the project and making things difficult. once its all together I'll have a biiiiig update.

Sorry for the bad news but until the "STFU" pimp hand is put down on some haters I've got to protect the project.
