Like the title says, im now a member of the 14 club.

The last, and best of 5 runs produced me a 14.915!

temp was-36 deg
rel humid-75
abso baro-29.46

First run was:

R/t- .415
60- .2651
330- 6.830
1/8- 10.144
mph-74.50
990- 12.886
1/4- 15.330
mph- 95.53
Traction control-off
Auto shift
O/D-off
No power break
feather throttle, lost tires a bit, a lot of wheel hop, a bit of spinn on the 1-2 shift...hit 3rd at the traps

Second run:

basicly same as first
15.336@ 95.12
same setup, same problems
Check engine light came on (assuming its attributed to Bad o2's)

Third run:

R/t-3.89
60-2.541
330-6.703
1/8-10.111
mph-71.34
990-13.016
1/4-15.644
mph-87.58
Trac-off
od-off
Manually shifted
no power break
lost the tires on the start, a lot of wheel hop
at the 1-2 shift i completly lost it, it immediately jumped to 110mph and stayd there all the way through the traps, lol. thats when i decided its imperritive to get Trak-lok

Fourth run:

rt-.127
60-2.458
330-6.615
1/8-9.912
mph-74.77
990-12.645
1/4-15.083
mph 95.69
Trac-off
manually shifted, only did 1, and 2, ran it through the traps in 2nd
BIG burnout to get the water off my tires, a little loss of traction, and a lot of wheel hop, lost the tires just a tad (shifts at 60-jumpped to 75, and back down to 65). I got REALY excited on that one! and i powerbreaked it at about 1500

Fifth run:

r/t-.123
60-2.368
330-6.484
1/8-9.762
mph-75.22
990-12.484
1/4-14.915
mph-96.05

Same driving as the 4th run, but i keept it floored all the way through the traps, in the 4th i let off RIGHT at the end, cuz i thought i was through, and it was just about to hit the rev, but this time i let it go through the traps, and exactly as i hit the traps it hit the rev, lol.

If I didnt think it was gay, i would give geno a big hug!

If i replace them 02's get the posi on there, and get some good tires on the car, i can see 14.7 definatly! (thats a .45 increase from my stock best, just from the transmission!)

if i lose about 150 lbs, i could see 14.6 14.5!

Not too bad. I am going to Cecil tomorrow morning, conditions should be about the same. I want to see what my stock Mark does in comparison.

Nice time, Mr. Wilson. Your 60 foot times are horrid, even the 2.3 on your 14.9 run is average. If you can get it down to 2.2, your car would run 14.8's all day as it is right now...

Posted by: JC1994

cool... I always shift mine manualy.

i know, like iv been sayin, i NEED that positrack! its sliding, jumping, and smoking its way past the 60 foot line.

yeah, i kinda figgure 14.8's def, and when i do the 02's i think that ill be low low low 14.8's, mabey even 14.7's They are realy eating up a lot of strength right now. I need to get a new job, i can barely pay for gas with what i make a week.

Another thing, i gotta work on my rt's they were ty. though compaired to those I raced, i actually did very very well. But id like to see .0xx

hes got a little stall, and one tire fire, if he gets a posi and good tires he woulnd have a problem

Now if I slam on the gas it spins through first, then 3/4 of second

I think stradog can back that up

yeah, well, once that 4.10 comes into play, i think i wanna go with a 3000 stall on there. Just a few million dollers away... First thing is first, i gotta get that driveshaft, after that ill worry about the other stuff.

Posted by: MarkOfDeath

I had the same traction problems with the 410 posi as I did with the 308 open, So what im trying to say is I didnt have a traction problem with either, but now the 3500 stall is in, its a whole new car

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Andy, congrats on your runs and times. If you had NO traction issues as you stand you should be in the 60's.

Just get some meaty 245/50's on there and practice your launches. Myself as many others have went 14.60's at 97 mph dead stock with stock rubber and all. If you had dr's and nothing more you would be all over 60's or maybe even a high 50 in this weather.

i had 245 50's on her, but wenever i look down i always hear that wendys commercial play in my head "wheres the beef?" I should find a cheep set of rims so i can have some track tires.

i guess ill try again next year, but ill say its a 14.6 car for now

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Easily!

Posted by: scott9050

I just beat your time and I am stock.

14.65 at 97.21

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

I have a set of Conti Rims with M/T ET Drags on them. I dunno if I want to sell them though?

Posted by: Dern Humpus

Your 60' tells me you have a lot more in it. I think if you worked on not spinning at all youd have another solid .3 seconds off that time.

Better then stock, all day every day.

Posted by: 67Continental

cool - i was concerned about tire wear, that I would only get a thousand miles out of the tires or something, due to the stickier compound. I assume drag radials are also safe in the rain?

Safer then any tire on the road.

Posted by: scott9050

We will see how he runs when he races me heads up next month at Cecil
Any other LVC people want to come and join the fun?

Posted by: MrWilson

Yeah, i was searching arround the old threads...and i came across one of genos movie clips, and i said, hay...thats just what happened to me when i ran all of my times, including the 14.915 http://www.lincolnmotorsport.com/sideways.wmv

cept i was spinning more at the beg, and i didnt go AS far sideways. on the last run

Posted by: scott9050

You WILL get your best times so far at Cecil.

Posted by: brentalan

I have 275's and Trac-Lok 3.73s and I still have to feather it off the line. It really just takes some practice to get good launches.
