(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Does anyone make a replacement exhaust for these cars? I have heard of h pipes replacing the stupid y pipe, but does anyone make a bolt on kit?

I think the only way i custom, do a 2 in 2 out magnaflow and have your third cat and resonator removed. Its legal, the rule is 1 cat per muffler. Oh yeah, wtf is with the like 5 different exactly the same threads u posted, lol

You guys should really try the Search function...

I think LMS exhaust sounds poopy. No offense to anyone who has it, but i personally dont like the sound of it.

The sound quality of the recording used for the xX2 commercial is very staticky and hissy. It makes it hard to critique the sound of the exhaust.

Posted by: JC1994

I think the LMS exhaust sounds pretty damn good.

Posted by: mespock

For the Price I like the 2 in 2 out Magnaflow set up...

But Geno does have a very good set up with the double X pipes...

If I had the cash I would have gone that route. But since I didn't and couldn't get my exhaust guy to cut my 3rd cat. I went with a 1 in 2 out Magnaflow set up and I am very pleased with it....

After listening to the sound from the video a few more times, I agree that it's a good sounding exhaust system. I'm going to start saving up now so I can get one next year.

Its only like that inside the garage. Listen to the street scenes.

I would have to say the LMS exaust comes in a CLOSE 2nd, to the Magnaflow/2.5 Mandrels on my 95'. Seriously tho, the LMS system is wicked sounding. If you can find the movie from the last meet, there are a couple of good "fly by" scenses that give a good idea what they are like.

Heres half throttle with no music from the commercial.

Posted by: aggiestckl

I heard the LMS in person also it sounds real good, doesnt sound all loud and gay like a mustang when u start it, just sounds like it has some balls when u give it gas

Posted by: MarkVIII93

Ahhh, guess the LMS exhaust is alright. You can hear it better without all that music.

Posted by: JERSEYJOE

So who exactly is Geno, where is he located and how muvh to do a " Cat Back system with dual exhausts?

Mustangs loud and GAY??? LOlololol!!! you must be talking about Mustangs with BLOWMASTERS... my Stang does not sound like any other Stang that I have heard... I've got full length Headman headers custom made 2.5 inch X-pipe and 2.5 inch Flowtech terminator mufflers, and they have a 3 inch straight thru flow tube with 1 chamber in the middle and no baffles.and 2.5 inch mandrel bent tail pipes. Muscle Mustangs & Fast Ford magazine dynoed all performance mufflers and the Terminators came out number 1. and I gaurantee you my Mustang does not sound like any other Stang, and certainly not GAY. LOl!!!

And that's the point.. We have Lincolns not Fords. Mark VIII's not Mustangs..

When you start them up the have a mature purr. When you step on the gas an agressive roar...

Mark VIII's are car that have spent time in the gym but are dressed up for a night on the town. Like James Bond in his Tux.

id rather have an ass smacking exhaust all the time, remember its also just a thunderbird dressed up. The key for me, is to make the outside world know theres a muscle car in that 4000lb fattie, but when you step into the inside world, you dont know your not riding in a limo.

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

We also have that LOUD Muscular muffler too. The LMS Assassins! Ray please chime in on this one and post that link!

Posted by: LincMark_7&8

If you have headers that also make a big diffrence in sound than just regular manifolds.

Posted by: brentalan

The LMS exhuast sounds awesome under a load when you are on the street and accelerating. I know, I have it, I drive everyday with it to work for the past 2 and a 1/2 years. Somebody revving in a garage is not the same as under load on the highway, however IMO it sounds good everywhere.

Posted by: JERSEYJOE

Whats this exhaust going to cost?

Ford, Lincoln, Mercury. I've owned them all. they are all made by the FORD Motor Company, and I have never considered any of them gay. I have never heard a REAL Ford fanatic knock another Ford. I guess some of you guys have never owned a FORD until your got your Mark VIII. let me put it this way...
I have yet to run across a Mark VIII that can beat my Mustang. does this mean I consider the Mark VIII GAY? not at all. 2 totally different cars. and I love both of them. btw... when I first seen a Mark VIII I refered to it as a sports car in a tux!! I LOVE ALL FORDS!!!!!!!!! there seems to be alot of Mustang bashing on this site. IMO...

Lots of opinions and ideas and conjecture being thrown around here...

From reading this I got two things

1) Before you ask a redundant question (or even on YOU THINK isn't) USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!!! I hate to say it but you are not special or original in your thinking and somebody has come up with it before... everything is a repost on the internet nowadays

2) Exhaust as with most modification, are a personal preferance on what YOU would like to achieve from your car. You can't let other people tell you what you need. Its your car, do what you want to it. That being said, there is a lot of wisdom on this board and one would be wise to heed some of the knowledge that is being dropped

Once again I step off my soapbox

I don't think you understood my post.. It wasn't slamming Mustangs I love Mustangs...

What I was saying is the Mark VIII is a much different vehicle..

The mustang is the athlete! The I've been to the gym muscle bound stud...

The Mark VIII is a Mature version of that Mustang... By saying it's James bond in a Tux... I'm saying it's got the punch of an athlete with but dressed up for the night...

Flowmasters sound great on a Stang.... They make your pecker stand straight up and stiff....

But to me they don't belong on the Mark VIII. That's why I like the Magnaflows for the Mark VIII. Deep Throaty sound but more subtle....

You can drive down the street with a very slight rumble but not awake up the neighbors... Still you can punch it down and let'r roar...

I've said it once I've said it a MILLION time's. there all FORDS, and if you don't like all of them then you are not a fanatic. END OF STORY.and I sure as hell won't be getting rid of my Mustang any time soon, I've owned it since 1992 and had a hell of a time with it all through the 90's when Mustangs ruled the streets and the track. so BASH it all you want, it will still get the job done.
