differential oil change

Hello,I plan to change the differential oil in my 1980 deville,46,000 miles,
how do I tell if it has a "limited slip differential" or just a solid differential. the limited slip calls for 4 ounces of a g.m. additive. tnx for any help.

If you raise the rear of the car so that both rear tires are off the ground, then turn one wheel by hand. If the opposite wheel turns in the SAME direction its limited slip. If the other wheel turns in OPPOSITE direction it is not limited slip.
